We first met in dental school, at The Dental College of Georgia, in the same class, and became friends over our first year. During the year, we became really close friends through classes, projects, and labs, but more importantly we had a close friend group who took several trips together, allowing us to build a solid friendship. Neither of us thought much beyond just a friendship at the time, but I think we both agree that we kept wanting to be around each other.

As the months went on, we started to spend more time together outside of school. We began attending mass together each Sunday and running together early in the mornings which gave us a chance to talk about everything from school stress to our hopes for the future. It was during this time that we both realized there was something more than just friendship between us.

In August of our second year, we finally made it official and began dating. Looking back, it’s funny to think that a lot of our dental school friends had already picked up on the connection between us long before we did—many of them had already started joking that we were a couple in the making.

Since then, we’ve been inseparable, supporting each other through the ups and downs of school and life. We’re grateful for the love and friendship we’ve built together and can’t wait to continue this journey, now as partners for life.
