This meet cute is a timeless love story that starts with guy meets girl on a dating app (a Hinge success story!).

Naturally, Rachel had become smitten after some witty banter by Evan, but they had to overcome some scheduling challenges to set a first date. As fate would have it though Evan had an extra ticket to Bark at the Park at the Padres game after a friend had to cancel last minute (thanks Albert & Chrissy). Evan took the opportunity and decided to invite Rachel and Amara to join him and Daisy at the game with just a few hours’ notice. Little did he know at the time how out of character a yes to a last-minute invite for a mid-weeknight baseball game would be for Rachel, but she said yes as she had always wanted to go to a baseball game with Amara, the ticket was free and figured she could always just make up an excuse and leave if it was a disaster.

As it turns out it was not a disaster, but also ended up being a play date for Daisy and Amara who hit it off right away with Evan and Rachel being their chaperones for the evening. As important as it was that Rachel and Evan find a love connection it was equally important that Daisy and Amara do so as well. Now that was out of the way they could move on to a second date and they followed the game up a few days later at the California Tap Room with many pretzels, beers and laughs being shared while the pups played wingman this time. The third date was when Rachel told her cousin Leanne, she was going to fall in love with Evan after Amara’s ball got a hole in it and started to sink in the bay and without hesitation Evan jumped in to action to save the ball from being lost. Some say it was a heroic effort and others also say it was action with great courage and bravery.

After a few months, a Penn State football season, an Indiana basketball season, a couple of birthdays, and some holidays, Evan asked Amara if she wanted to move in, and it became official on Christmas Eve when Amara, Rachel and her Peloton moved in.

About 6 months later, Evan nervously and clumsily proposed to Rachel at an anniversary getaway in Big Bear with the pups in hand! Rachel always dreamed of a toes in the sand wedding, and Evan and Rachel found the perfect venue to make that dream come true. We look forward to celebrating with all of you.
