In August 2022, Evan and Emily both matched on a dating app, and were glad they did! After chatting for several weeks, Emily was eager to meet Evan, and they finally had their first date. Evan, being punctual as always, arrived early at the restaurant only to find it closed due to a plumbing issue. Without skipping a beat, he quickly devised a new plan.


Despite Emilys nerves making her speak loudly during their first date, Evan was captivated. They soon began officially dating and discovered a shared love for traveling, camping, road trips, attending Mariners games, and simply enjoying life together. They started a tradition of collecting stickers on their random adventures big or small, to document their experience together. They have collected over 100 stickers!


Early in their relationship, Evan introduced Emily to one of his favorite spots along the river in North Bend. They returned there every few months to disconnect from the world, reflect on their relationship, and enjoy each others company.


While Emily was on vacation with her family in June 2023, Evan started planning to propose to her. With his best man, Matthew, he visited their special spot in North Bend to plan the proposal details. They returned weeks before the big day to prepare, clearing weeds to mark the spots where he would stand and hide.


On September 22, 2023, Evan suggested revisiting their spot in North Bend to reflect on their year together. Little did Emily know, this was the moment he would propose. It turned out to be a magical evening filled with tears, love, and laughter.


They are eagerly anticipating their wedding day on July 19, 2025, when they will become Mr. and Mrs. McDowell!
