It was a hot day in July, a Tuesday, around 6pm at the Trout Run Fish Hatchery just outside Decorah. Run Club always meets on Tuesdays. This was the first time we were both at Run Club at the same time. We both noticed each other with a few side glances, and after a few weeks, it was a regular occurrence to spend extra time talking at the social hour afterward. After a few months, we went on our first date and shortly decided to keep dating.

After two years of dating, Evan proposed on the anniversary of our first date on Dug Road at the Girl and Heron statue in Decorah.
