What should I wear to the Welcome Party?
Halloween costumes, cocktail attire, & your airport clothes are all welcome :)
Where in The Gaylord is The Welcome Party
Mission Plaza! It is located on the lower level of our Lone Star Atrium. The Lone Star Atrium is directly straight ahead once walking in the front doors of The Gaylord Hotel.
Where should I park at the Gaylord for the Welcome Party?
We recommend parking in the Resort Parking Garage, just past the main entrance of the hotel + Vineyard Tower. You will receive a ticket when you drive in the parking garage. Please bring your tickets in, and see Vonni, Evan's mom, for a sticker for a discount.
Where do I park for the wedding at The Laurel?
If you are driving, valeting will be free. You are allowed to keep your car at The Laurel overnight, but PLEASE get your keys from the valet first! **Please Note** Whether you driving or getting an Uber, rush hour traffic in DFW is a beast for most of the afternoon and evening on Fridays. Even though all hotels are so close to The Laurel, please plan ahead to book your ride or leave early just to play it extremely safe.
What should we wear to the wedding?
We would like to ask guests to plan for black tie optional.
Is there a wedding block at a local hotel?
No, there isn’t a dedicated hotel block as we want to ensure guests have the opportunity to stay where they have loyalty status or based on where fellow friends and family are staying. We love that our venue is within a 5-minute drive of DFW Airport and surrounded by over 20 hotels from popular chains to local boutiques. Located in historic Grapevine, you'll find many hotels near Main Street, lined with restaurants, galleries, and shops, as well as the Cotton Belt Railroad District, home to artisans and the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. To see a list of our recommended hotels, please visit our Travel and Things To Do page.
Am I allowed to bring a plus one to the Wedding?
Unfortunately, we have limited space, so we simply can’t afford for all of our lovely guests to bring a guest of their own. Plus ones are therefore by invitation only and we ask other guests to please not bring a plus one. Thank you so much for understanding!
Are children allowed at the wedding?
Although we truly love your children, we regretfully cannot accommodate them at the venue due to restricted numbers. Children are therefore by invitation only (children participating in the ceremony) and we ask other guests to please make other arrangements for childcare. We are ultimately hoping our wedding night serves as a "night off" for parents! Thank you so much for understanding!
Is there a shuttle?
Because we are so grateful there are so many wonderful hotels ranging from walking distance to a 7 minute minute drive of The Laurel and The Gaylord, there is not shuttle transportation. Please prepare to Uber or to drive to the events. Please also plan for rush hour traffic on Friday. We are also grateful to offer valet parking at The Laurel for the wedding and validation stickers for a discount at The Gaylord for The Welcome Party.
At the Wedding & Reception:
Please note that the wedding and reception are "unplugged" events. We kindly ask that you turn off your cell phones and cameras. We adore our photographer and videographer and promise we will be sure to share photos with you. We want to see your joyful faces and be sure awesome candid moments are captured :)
Will there be other events to attend on the wedding weekend?
Yes! We would love to see you at The Welcome Party on October 31st at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center! Please come anytime between 6-9, or stay and celebrate for the whole duration :) We would also love for you to join us at Texas Live! the day after our wedding!
What time should I get to Texas Live! for the Tailgate?
We will be at our “home base/meeting place” at the Silver Bullet Bar at Rangers Republic inside Texas Live! This will be a casual area to watch the Purdue vs. Northwestern game at 11am CT. Texas Live! is one of the biggest and most fun sport bar venues right outside of AT&T stadium. You may come and go as you like. We are excited for you all to see and experience all the different bars, activities, TVs, and food. It will be fun for all of those still in town to be in the same place, to recap the night before, eat, drink, and watch football right outside AT&T stadium :) Boiler Up!
What should I wear to "The Tailgate"?
Casual clothes, Purdue gear!
Is the ceremony and reception inside or outside?
The ceremony is indoors in the Chapel at The Laurel. The reception to follow will also be indoors. The cocktail hour is outdoors.
How do I RSVP?
Our final counts were due and are all turned into our venue. Thank you so much for RSVPing!
What date should I RSVP by?
We would like to ask that all RSVPs are in by Friday, September 13, 2024.
