Wedding Day

Our Wedding

Our Story

Eve and John's love story begins at the University of Pittsburgh in 2017. They met through the University of Pittsburgh Varsity Marching Band and became fast friends after coincidentally being on the same coach bus trip from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh where John got a thorough education on Eve's fish in her dorm. A year later, the pair officially started their relationship on October 15th, 2018. During their time at Pitt, they both played the trombone in Pitt Band (7 let's go panthers), but off the field they could be found studying in Hillman Library, drinking way too much coffee, chowing down at the Pizza Hut in the William Pitt Union, and dancing the night away in a South Oakland basement.

After finishing up his undergraduate degree in 2019, John started his career in Pittsburgh and adopted a cat named Doolah. Two years later, Eve completed her undergraduate degree, the couple moved in together, and they adopted another cat named Pebbles. After two years in their apartment, approximately 1,000 Uptown Kitchen pizzas, a million hours in Hades, and John perfecting his proofreading skills, Eve graduated with her master's degree in 2023 and started a job in Pittsburgh.

In 2024, on their six year anniversary trip to Acadia National Park, John proposed to Eve at sunset on the coast. With a resounding "yes" Eve almost fell over into the tide pools.

These days the couple enjoys hiking in North Park, playing Stardew Valley, reading in Schenley Plaza, hosting dinner parties, going to farmers markets, cuddling their cats, trying new restaurants, and playing the trombone in community band.

After seven years together, (let's go panthers) John and Eve are so happy to share their story with you and see you on their wedding day!

Transportation

Driving

If you are driving from eastern PA we recommend taking the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Route 76) into Pittsburgh. We recommend getting an E-ZPass before your trip to save 50% on tolls.

Flying

Guests traveling by plane should arrive to Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). The airport is about a 30 minute drive from the City of Pittsburgh so please plan your transportation from the airport accordingly. Some options include <a href="https://flypittsburgh.com/pittsburgh-international-airport/ground-transport/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">PIT's various rental car companies</a>, Uber, Lyft, and Pittsburgh Regional Transit's 28X bus. Tickets for the 28X can be purchased and scanned through the Transit App.

Amtrak

Guests traveling by Amtrak should arrive to Pittsburgh, PA Union Station (PGH).
