Our Wedding

We met in May of 2022 in the most romantic way imaginable......through the sacred algorithm of Hinge! Where true love was just a witty prompt and nice photo of Max sitting in his yellow beatle, away. Our first date was in Downtown Mountain View where we sipped on boba and talked for several hours exploring the downtown. Those hours turned into three amazing years later. In those three years we have cooked thousands of dishes together. We have traveled to Mexico, Hawaii, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, France, and many more to come. Most importantly, we built a cozy little home with our small but perfect family, our two cats, Tater Tot and Cocoa Bean. Now we are excited to continue this next part in celebrating our wedding with all of you.

Teresa has been one of Evelin’s closest friends for over ten years, living just down the street from the Vazquez family for much of that time. Although they first met in elementary school, their friendship truly blossomed in late high school. Since then, they’ve shared countless walks around the neighborhood, late-night conversations, and hours spent in each other’s homes, turning a friendship into something that feels like family.

Over the years, Teresa has been a constant rock in Evelin’s life. Even from over 1,000 miles away in Northern California, she’s been there through phone calls, encouragement, and unwavering support, always cheering Evelin on.

Teresa is one of the most genuine and kindhearted people you’ll ever meet. Her warmth and compassion leave a lasting impression on everyone she meets, and Evelin is so grateful to call her not just a friend, but family.

Loren and Max met one fateful day during their sophomore year at SJSU. Loren was cleaning his computer in the living room when Max came by with their mutual friend Alex, and upon seeing the disassembled rig, Max knew he had found one of his people. Since then, Max and Loren have remained very close friends, having shared many many memories, and moved each other countless times, usually upstairs. Loren is outgoing, and unusually charismatic, always lighting up whatever social situation he finds himself in.

Lisa and Evelin have been close friends for over a decade, ever since they met on their high school tennis team. Their friendship has been filled with unforgettable memories from wild, borderline life-threatening adventures. Some of Evelin’s favorite moments, though, are the many conversations they shared while studying side by side in cozy cafés.

Lisa is truly one of a kind, with a carefree spirit and a heart that brings joy to everyone around her. She’s the kind of friend you can always be your silly self with, knowing she’ll make you feel loved and appreciated.

Being cousins, Jake and Max have been close as long as Max has known the Urban family. Spending lots of time together, the two have both grown up, and still remained very close through the years. Jake is the world's biggest seal appreciator, and one of the kindest people to walk this Earth.  With his kind and thoughtful character, his wit and his intelligence, and his encyclopedic collection of movie quotes, Jake is truly one of a kind, and is always the best company to be in.

Evelin has had the privilege of knowing Ruby for over 30 years. Not just as cousins, but as best friends who grew up together. From countless sleepovers and playing hide-and-seek in Ruby’s neighborhood to pretending to be mermaids in the pool and even getting their first tattoos together, they’ve shared a lifetime of memories.

Ruby is one of the kindest, most thoughtful people you could ever meet always someone you can count on. She’s also an amazing cook, talented artist, and one of the funniest people Evelin knows. Evelin is truly grateful to call her cousin and lifelong friend.

Mikel and Max have known each other for two decades, becoming good friends in the 7th grade. Spending countless nights at each other’s (parents) houses, the two have both hosted many LAN parties, both for console and PC. Growing up and going through college years together, that spirit of fun and excitement has not dwindled. Mikel is quite the character, and always a joy to be around.

Nallely and Evelin have known each other for over 30 years, not just as cousins, but as childhood companions who grew up side by side. From Nallely walking over with a backpack full of Barbies ready for hours of play, to running around the neighborhood playing hide-and-seek and dodging the occasional “fart bombs” from Evelin’s brother, they’ve shared countless of amazing memories. There were also the many times Evelin convinced poor Nallely to go on long hikes, but together making it through each time. 

Nallely is the kind of person who will be there through both the highs and the lows, always cheering you on. She’s giving, loving, and incredibly funny, and Evelin is so grateful to call her not only her cousin, but also a lifelong friend.

Also being cousins, Drew and Max have been close since early childhood. Mostly spending time at Drew’s family’s place in Roseville growing up, the two have spent countless hours and days playing together on Drew’s grandparent’s sprawling property. The two have had a long history, including surviving a hurricane together in Florida. Although growing up a few hours apart, Drew never missed an opportunity to come down to a party. Often a man of few words, Drew is a wonderful person, and an even more wonderful addition to the wedding party.

The venue is located in the rural town of Pillot Hill and requires a scenic drive to reach. The closest towns for accommodations are Placerville, Cameron Park, Folsom, Georgetown, and Auburn. We highly recommend staying in Placerville or Folsom as these cities are both around a 25-35 minute drive to the venue and it offers the widest selection of hotels and amenities. There are also a few Airbnb options available closer to the venue for those who prefer a more nearby stay.

Where to Stay

There are lots of family friendly activities to do near Pilot Hill, CA. 1. South Lake Tahoe: South Lake Tahoe is just 1.5 hours north of our venue. 2. Apple Hill: Apple Hill is only a 15-minute drive from Placerville. It’s a lovely place for families to visit during the summer and enjoy beautiful views of the Sierra Nevada range. Apple Hill has many farms where you can grab snacks like cider donuts, see farm animals, or visit one of the many wineries. June is lavender season, so you can pick lavender or enjoy refreshing lavender lemonade. 3. Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park: Visit where gold was discovered and see the historical mining areas alongside the beautiful American River. It's a fun place for kids to explore! (Located on the way to the venue) 4. Downtown Placerville. It’s a quaint historic town filled with antique shops, cozy coffee spots, and delicious local eatery. It's perfect for a relaxed afternoon of exploring.
