After swiping right for each other, we decided to meet for our first date at Parkside. Joey was very late (due to work), but we hit it off immediately. No pics were taken that night, but there was lots of laughter and getting to know each other. This pic is one of the first taken together.

We knew Ewa was only going to be here in the U.S. for a few more months, so we decided to make the most of it and went on our first vacation together to California.

The time had come for Ewa to go back to Poland to finish her PhD. We stopped by the Georgia Aquarium on the way to the Atlanta airport. At the time, (and for several months after) we didn't know if Ewa would come back to the U.S.

But she did! Both of us were very happy. After successfully completing her PhD, she got a job back here in Birmingham.

After living through the peak of the pandemic, we decided to grow our little family by one and adopted our dog ChewBecka.

Joey finally visited Poland for the first time. We explored Ewa's hometown Radom together and spent time with her family and friends. Joey fell in love with zapiekanka and the swiftness of public transportation.

Although not Ewa's first football game (that's another story) this is from Ewa's first Iron Bowl, which as you know is a big deal here in Alabama.

We (finally) got engaged while on a trip to Dauphin Island for Ewa's birthday.

We went ahead and got married in early 2024, but that one was just for us. Now we look forward to the celebration with all of you! Hope you can join us on 9-1-24!
