Our Wedding

It&nbsp;was&nbsp;January&nbsp;2010,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;had&nbsp;just&nbsp;started&nbsp;his&nbsp;training&nbsp;at&nbsp;his&nbsp;first&nbsp;grown&nbsp;up&nbsp;job.&nbsp;&nbsp;During&nbsp;this&nbsp;first&nbsp;week,&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;was&nbsp;asked&nbsp;to&nbsp;attend&nbsp;a&nbsp;recruiting&nbsp;trip&nbsp;at&nbsp;Northwestern.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;22&nbsp;year&nbsp;old&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;jumped&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;opportunity,&nbsp;because&nbsp;who&nbsp;doesn't&nbsp;want&nbsp;free&nbsp;food&nbsp;and&nbsp;beer?&nbsp;&nbsp; It&nbsp;was&nbsp;on&nbsp;that&nbsp;fateful&nbsp;recruiting&nbsp;trip&nbsp;that&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;and&nbsp;Ewelina&nbsp;first&nbsp;met.&nbsp;&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;remembers&nbsp;being&nbsp;a&nbsp;recruiter&nbsp;extraordinaire,&nbsp;telling&nbsp;everyone&nbsp;what&nbsp;a&nbsp;great&nbsp;company&nbsp;his&nbsp;was&nbsp;to&nbsp;work&nbsp;for&nbsp;even&nbsp;though&nbsp;he&nbsp;hadn't&nbsp;actually&nbsp;worked&nbsp;a&nbsp;day&nbsp;there&nbsp;in&nbsp;his&nbsp;life&nbsp;beyond&nbsp;training.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ewelina&nbsp;remembers&nbsp;some&nbsp;loud,&nbsp;tall&nbsp;guy&nbsp;walking&nbsp;around&nbsp;the&nbsp;tables. Fast&nbsp;forward&nbsp;to&nbsp;fall&nbsp;2010,&nbsp;and&nbsp;their&nbsp;paths&nbsp;crossed&nbsp;once&nbsp;again.&nbsp;&nbsp;This&nbsp;time,&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;Big&nbsp;Ten&nbsp;Bar&nbsp;Crawl.&nbsp;&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;was&nbsp;dressed&nbsp;impeccably,&nbsp;in&nbsp;his&nbsp;black&nbsp;and&nbsp;gold&nbsp;striped&nbsp;pants&nbsp;and&nbsp;yellow&nbsp;sports&nbsp;jacket.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ewelina&nbsp;couldn't&nbsp;help&nbsp;but&nbsp;approach&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;to&nbsp;let&nbsp;him&nbsp;know&nbsp;they&nbsp;had&nbsp;met&nbsp;before.&nbsp;&nbsp;The&nbsp;two&nbsp;chatted&nbsp;together&nbsp;the&nbsp;entire&nbsp;time&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;bar&nbsp;until&nbsp;the&nbsp;bell&nbsp;rang&nbsp;and&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;and&nbsp;his&nbsp;friends&nbsp;went&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;next&nbsp;bar.&nbsp;&nbsp; Later&nbsp;that&nbsp;same&nbsp;evening,&nbsp;Rob's&nbsp;friends&nbsp;asked&nbsp;'did&nbsp;you&nbsp;get&nbsp;her&nbsp;number?!?!'.&nbsp;&nbsp;Unfortunately,&nbsp;he&nbsp;had&nbsp;forgotten&nbsp;to&nbsp;ask&nbsp;for&nbsp;it&nbsp;before&nbsp;taking&nbsp;off.&nbsp;&nbsp;No&nbsp;worries&nbsp;though,&nbsp;a&nbsp;name&nbsp;like&nbsp;Ewelina&nbsp;could&nbsp;surely&nbsp;be&nbsp;found&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;hot,&nbsp;semi-new&nbsp;thing&nbsp;called&nbsp;Facebook!&nbsp;&nbsp;So&nbsp;at&nbsp;12:30&nbsp;am,&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;sent&nbsp;out&nbsp;the&nbsp;Hail&nbsp;Mary&nbsp;Facebook&nbsp;Friend&nbsp;request. No&nbsp;response. Fast&nbsp;forward&nbsp;7&nbsp;years&nbsp;later&nbsp;and&nbsp;as&nbsp;fate&nbsp;would&nbsp;have&nbsp;it,&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;and&nbsp;Ewelina&nbsp;matched&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;dating&nbsp;app.&nbsp;At&nbsp;this&nbsp;time,&nbsp;neither&nbsp;recognized&nbsp;one&nbsp;another.&nbsp;&nbsp;Before&nbsp;the&nbsp;first&nbsp;date,&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;decided&nbsp;to&nbsp;go&nbsp;online&nbsp;and&nbsp;do&nbsp;some&nbsp;'due&nbsp;diligence'&nbsp;(aka&nbsp;stalking)&nbsp;of&nbsp;Ewelina&nbsp;to&nbsp;figure&nbsp;out&nbsp;who&nbsp;she&nbsp;was.&nbsp;&nbsp;To&nbsp;his&nbsp;horror,&nbsp;when&nbsp;he&nbsp;went&nbsp;to&nbsp;her&nbsp;Facebook&nbsp;page,&nbsp;the&nbsp;status&nbsp;said&nbsp;'friend&nbsp;requested'&nbsp;-&nbsp;Ewelina&nbsp;had&nbsp;let&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;sit&nbsp;in&nbsp;Facebook&nbsp;Friend&nbsp;Request&nbsp;Purgatory&nbsp;for&nbsp;7&nbsp;years!&nbsp;&nbsp; When&nbsp;he&nbsp;saw&nbsp;his&nbsp;Facebook&nbsp;friend&nbsp;request&nbsp;status,&nbsp;the&nbsp;entire&nbsp;history&nbsp;of&nbsp;their&nbsp;relationship&nbsp;flashed&nbsp;before&nbsp;his&nbsp;eyes.&nbsp;&nbsp;During&nbsp;dates&nbsp;1-3,&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;gathered&nbsp;the&nbsp;baseline&nbsp;facts&nbsp;to&nbsp;see&nbsp;if&nbsp;his&nbsp;memory&nbsp;was&nbsp;correct.&nbsp;&nbsp;Did&nbsp;she&nbsp;recruit&nbsp;in&nbsp;consulting&nbsp;junior&nbsp;year?&nbsp;&nbsp;Did&nbsp;she&nbsp;go&nbsp;to&nbsp;Northwestern&nbsp;undergrad?&nbsp;&nbsp;By&nbsp;date&nbsp;4,&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;couldn't&nbsp;take&nbsp;it&nbsp;anymore&nbsp;and&nbsp;blurted&nbsp;out&nbsp;"Did&nbsp;you&nbsp;go&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;Big&nbsp;10&nbsp;Bar&nbsp;Crawl&nbsp;fall&nbsp;of&nbsp;2010?!?!?"&nbsp;mid&nbsp;date.&nbsp;&nbsp;She&nbsp;said&nbsp;she&nbsp;had,&nbsp;but&nbsp;was&nbsp;perplexed&nbsp;by&nbsp;the&nbsp;question&nbsp;until&nbsp;Rob&nbsp;explained&nbsp;their&nbsp;history&nbsp;together. And&nbsp;that&nbsp;was&nbsp;how&nbsp;the&nbsp;7&nbsp;year&nbsp;courtship&nbsp;of&nbsp;Ewelina&nbsp;got&nbsp;us&nbsp;to&nbsp;today.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The hotel is a 5-8 minute walk from the venue and there will be a&nbsp;free shuttle as well. The hotel provides a&nbsp;continental breakfast&nbsp;for all those staying at the hotel on Sunday morning as well.
