It all started in the spring of 2024 at Spurgeon College. She needed an extra player for her intramural volleyball team and asked a friend to bring someone along — that someone happened to be me. We already knew of each other from playing sports at the same school, but that simple invitation led to something much bigger than either of us expected. After that first game, she got my number to see if I’d keep playing for their team, and from there, things just clicked. Our first date was a classic — Raising Cane’s followed by a movie night watching The Fall Guy. By May of 2024, we officially started dating, and life hasn’t slowed down since. For me, I knew she was the one when she asked to watch Cars on her birthday — a small moment that showed her fun, down-to-earth heart. For her, it was when she came with me to visit my family in McPherson, Kansas, and saw how naturally we fit into each other’s lives. Some of our favorite memories together include going to a rodeo, our trips to Kansas, and our trip to Branson with her family. Each one is a reminder of how much laughter and joy we share, no matter where we are. On August 22, 2025, at the lake where we love to fish, I asked her to marry me — and thankfully, she said yes! She says she loves my sarcastic humor, my heart for others, and the way I’m always in her corner. I love her smile, her laugh, her love for the Lord, and how deeply she cares for me and my family. Now we can’t wait to start this next chapter together — filled with faith, laughter, and the same love that began on a volleyball court.
