Jonathan and Faith met at the well-known and loved BCM Finals Pancakes. It was brief, but they would soon become close friends, connecting over their love for the Lord, film scores, and ice cream. This led to a trip to the Ark about two weeks later, a trip that was supposed to include multiple friends, who all happened to cancel (suspicious, if you ask me).
About a month later, Jonathan traveled up to good ole Baltimore, OH for the weekend. Faith showed him all her favorite places, including Mount Pleasant, the Band Stand, and the library in downtown Lancaster (what a nerd). Jonathan ate at Bibibop for the first time and Faith learned how to throw a disc properly. It was a fun weekend, but soon after Jonathan and Faith began to drift apart and wouldn't talk much until August.
They would reconnect after Faith had to pick up Jonathan, Ben, and Conner from Cave Run on an August afternoon. Their friendship picked up right where it left off. After they shared a trip to visit Jonathan's sister on November 20th, 2022, Jonathan officially asked Faith out (a painfully long conversation in which Jonathan played Clash Royale on his phone while patiently waiting for Faith's response). Faith said yes, and the rest is history.
Jonathan and Faith would spend the next year playing many games of MarioKart (Faith always loses), spending a lot of time with their best friend, Wade, eating too much ice cream, and watching a LOT of Star Wars. Finally, on January 13th, 2024 (Michael + Julia Underwood's wedding day, yay!) Jonathan popped the question, and Faith joyously said yes!
The moral of their story is patience. Patience in the waiting to meet each other, patience in between the trips to Lexington, Morehead, and Ohio, patience with each other while on different schedules, and most importantly, patience in the waiting on the Lord's perfect timing.
The Lord's providence is evident in their story in a multitude of ways that would take too long to describe. All of the credit for their relationship belongs to Him alone. Thank you, gracious Lord, for this blessing of a story, as well as all the loved ones who have witnessed it.
