We met when we were just 16, on the first day of gym class. I had just transferred schools and found myself sitting on the gym floor, alphabetically placed near this boy I didn’t know. He leaned over, pointed at my colorful sneakers, and asked about them. I was instantly annoyed. Like, seriously?

Safe to say, it was not love at first sight.

But life is funny like that. Despite my initial eye-roll, our lives kept crossing paths. Over time, that boy who once irritated me slowly became my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the love of my life. We’ve grown up together, through every high and low, with our stories forever weaving into one.

Now here we are—older, wiser, and still walking side by side (probably in colorful shoes). Who knew that a random comment in gym class would lead to forever?
