It began with the game: Two Truths and a Lie. Fara was just too intrigued by the possibility of Matt’s truths from his Hinge profile to let the opportunity to meet him pass her by. After a canceled first date - thanks to Hurricane Harvey - a month after first “connecting virtually”, Fara and Matt went out IRL (in real life).

Picture this: it’s the day after Yom Kippur 2021 and Fara is ready to meet Matt. She was feeling skinny and absolved after repenting and fasting the day prior. With a fresh blowout and her cutest ‘fit, she was ready for a hot date. And what she got was a hot mess - the restaurant had zero AC, it was so noisy that Matt and Fara were practically shouting to one another in conversation and the restaurant wasn’t the most accommodating to some of Matt’s more particular food preferences. Based on that alone, you’d think this date was doomed, but it was anything but. Amidst the less than ideal circumstances, Fara and Matt hit it off. The two connected over a shared passion for life, different activities and events that bring them joy.

Despite an instant connection and spark, the pair took things slowly as they got to know each other. They spent time out and about in New York City, that is, whenever Matt could fit Fara into his very busy social schedule. A few months later, Matt got very sick after dinner one evening, Fara took charge and cared for him till he was back to himself. The next morning he woke up (literally) and realized he didn’t want to lose a good thing. He had to make sure Fara knew how serious and committed he was and from that moment on, they became inseparable. They booked a 3-week trip to Toronto where their quality time together allowed them to develop an even deeper emotional connection and learn to coexist in a small space - no easy task with Matt!

Despite a hot first date (in the literal sense), Matt and Fara had found their person in life and, as they say, the rest is history!
