It all started with a silly little swipe. On a random weekday back in February of 2021, I swiped right just like he did. I loved the one picture he had with a cute little steer and he loved the picture I had of me with sunflowers in the background. I wouldn’t be able to tell you what he messaged me first but I know that there was an instant spark. It only took one Facetime call and one date at Whiteys Fish Camp to know that we would be a part of each others lives one way or another.
We primarily spoke on Tinder where we met until he asked me for my number. Shortly after finding out we had some similar interests, we had a 3+ hour-long FaceTime call. We played sports, each loved our families, lived around the same area (way back when), and here we are! We soon became each others go-to person, navigating life together, even if it was only as friends. I can admit that Chris has helped me come out of my shell and I’m sure Chris won’t admit it, but I like to think I have helped him with some things too.
During unprecedented times, we were sure about one thing. We knew that we cared about each other so deeply but each of us knew we had some work to do. Fast forward to December 2021, we had worked on ourselves while still keeping that initial spark alive. We finally put a label on us and made it official! He asked me to be his girlfriend on December 4th, 2021 and I of course said yes. Since that day, we have been inseparable! I even moved in with him 8 months later.
We have lived together since my third and final year of college and have made so many memories as a couple and with our fur babies. I got to see firsthand all of the hard work he does daily at his job. He got to watch me live out my passion, playing college softball. We have had so many boat rides and fun times on the water, the list goes on. I had so much fun living and making memories with him, that I decided to stay for the summer! Summertime came and we went on a cruise with his family (my first one ever). On July 6th, 2023, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I knew it was coming but I was still in utter shock! Neither one of us had dry eyes and of course I said yes! The emotions and the adrenaline were at an all time high.
Now we get to celebrate such a special day with all of the people we love the most. There would be no us if it werent for all of the people who have loved us from the very beginning. From boyfriend and girlfriend, getting engaged, and having the privilege to share our lives with one another forever, we ask you to come celebrate with us in November!
With Love,
Chris and Farrin
