A long, long time ago…
In a galaxy far, far away…
Actually, scratch that—this one’s a bit closer to home. Picture it: 2012. The year of side bangs, skinny jeans and the song Party Rock Anthem and Gangnam style made us groove, and a certain fateful encounter at Sandia High School... well really it was the weekend at Highland.
Felicia was sitting on the sidelines, watching a lacrosse game, when her eyes first locked onto Tyler, gliding across the field like a jedi in the making. Her first thought? “Who is that?” followed by the immediate, heart-pounding realization: “Wait, he’s so cute. I need to meet him!” But, alas, like ships in the night, their paths crossed only for a fleeting moment. She didn’t even get the chance to say “hi.” And just like that, they went their separate ways—never to speak again… or so they thought.
 
Fast forward a decade (give or take a few years) to 2022, when the stars aligned and, with a little nudge from the universe—and maybe a dating app—Tyler and Felicia found each other once more. Tyler’s first thought upon seeing Felicia again? She’s got that adventurous spirit, and that smile… it’s like sunshine on a cloudy day. And just like that, it was game over—he knew she was the one.
Their first date was at Café Bella, where what was meant to be a casual coffee turned into a magical three-and-a-half-hour marathon of laughter, stories, and getting to know one another. Tyler was so enchanted that he completely lost track of time and ended up late for his bike ride with his dad. Oh, and did we mention he forgot sunscreen? Yeah. The sunburn that followed? Legendary. But even as he suffered the burns of his life, he knew one thing: that day? It was worth it. He had met someone special.
And so began their adventure of a lifetime.
From hiking through the stunning wilderness with their two dogs, Cali and Athena, to tandem biking, kayaking, and cruising through new destinations, every moment together felt like a grand adventure. Whether it was racing through the wilderness or cozying up for a night of Survivor, The Amazing Race, or The Challenge, they were always in sync—laughing, loving, and living for the thrill of it all.
But then, the ultimate adventure awaited.
 
Tyler popped the question on a hike in Sitka, Alaska, with a little help from their guide, Laura, who had to keep her composure when Tyler flashed the ring, indicating... it was time. As Felicia was getting into position for a picture, they hugged and enjoyed the beautiful memories they were making as Tyler dropped down on one knee.
In that beautiful Alaskan landscape, they began their next chapter together.
