Felicity & Nick met on August 21, 2022, at Slovenska Pristava. Felicity, as an adult, never dreamt that she would meet the love of her life on the grounds of Slovenska Pristava. At 27 years old, she was certain she had already met everyone there was to meet; at this point, her time at Pristava was to enjoy the summer weather, decompress, and have a good time with family and friends...

Nick, on the other hand, did not venture out to Pristava as much in his childhood and young adulthood. In 2022, Nick's family decided to join the Slovenska Pristava fun in search of more involvement in the Cleveland-Slovenian community. In fact, Felicity met Nick's mom, Anita, in May 2022 – months before Felicity and Nick met.

At "Proud to be Slovenian Day", Anita and Felicity were paired as volunteers to fry French Fries in the kitchen for the event attendees. Anita and Felicity bonded over the rush of volunteering in the kitchen and had a lot of fun together that day... Anita never gave Felicity a clue, though, what she started scheming behind the scenes…

Anita went home after the event and told Nick about a girl he needs to meet… to meet Felicity, Nick started going to all of the Slovenska Pristava events that summer. Meanwhile, Felicity’s attendance lessened as her parents returned to Cleveland from their overseas post. While she enjoys Pristava, she also enjoys the summers hanging out with her mom, Jenny, on their porch in Euclid, OH.

It wasn’t until two days after Jenny returned to her overseas post did Felicity decide to take advantage of her Slovenska Pristava membership and hang out for a weekend in Geneva. On a Saturday night, among all the grounds’ cabins enjoying Slivo and Borovnicevev, Felicity and Anita reconnected. They joked about the day earlier that summer they fried French Fries together, and finally, after some more conversation Anita confessed, “You know, Felicity, my son is your secret admirer.” Felicity quickly retorted, “Tell him not to be secret.”

The next day, Nick showed up to Slovenska Pristava (and even left a weekend trip with friends a night early because he heard Felicity was around!) and FINALLY met Felicity after trying to spot her all summer. They were introduced, shook hands, and both immediately felt sparks. They spent that whole day together, August 21, 2022 and pinky swore just a week later on August 28, 2022 to never break each other’s hearts. Just over ten months later, on their first vacation together in Slovenia, Nick proposed to Felicity at Lake Bled asking, “Will you marry me?” She confidently answered, "Yes!"
