Our Wedding

Tray and Fili’s love story began at the San Francisco Christian Center (SFCC) on October 22, 2023, when Tray reintroduced himself to Fili after briefly meeting her a few Sundays ago. Their conversation was effortless followed with laughter and giggles that sparked their interest in exchanging numbers. The very next day, they spoke on the phone for 3 hours and thereafter, the daily calls continued for hours and hours. October 27, 2023, was a memorable moment filled with nerves and butterflies as they were both preparing for their first date. Tray arrived at Fili’s home and when she walked out, Tray was standing outside next to his car with the passenger door wide open. As Fili walked towards Tray, he was so nervous that he wasn’t sure how he should greet her. When Fili approached him with a big smile on her face, Tray took hold of Fili’s hand, turned her around and then went in for a hug. Fili was smitten by this tall, handsome, well -dressed gentleman whom she only met 5 days prior. Although they weren’t sure how their first date would end up, it turned out to be an amazing evening listening to live music and dancing the entire night. The connection and energy Fili and Tray experienced was undeniable. After dating for 3 months, they committed to becoming partners on January 1, 2024. There was immediate acceptance from both families, friends and especially their church family who were praying for them from the very beginning. Tray was waiting for a woman who was seeking a man like him. Although Fili was not looking, God knew exactly who Fili needed in her life. As they reminisced on their past relationships and what they’ve been through, they knew it was all God. Tray and Fili’s love for each other grew stronger and stronger every day. Their prayer was to allow theirrelationship to be a blessing to others who were seeking the same true love. They encountered many people from church and random strangers who commented on how their relationship gave them hope in finding someone special for themselves. As their journey continued, they decided it was time to make a real commitment. In early November 2024, with the help of Sister Aida, a church member and prayer warrior who prayed for Tray and Fili, took them both to her jeweler and helped pick out an engagement ring. The ring was purchased, sized, wrapped and ready the same day. As the excitement grew, the anticipation for when Tray would ask grew as well. Thanksgiving Day passed, Christmas Eve came and went, Christmas Day ended and no proposal. At this point, Fili was discouraged and concerned that Tray had changed his mind. Fili became even more weary when New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day came and gone and still no proposal. Without Fili’s knowledge, Tray planned a huge surprise proposal along with Fili’s family. The surprise proposal took place at Fili’s job, Ivy Park at Cathedral Hill on January 4, 2025. Tray wanted to make sure Fili had a grand proposal that would feel like her first and he succeeded. Fili was truly surprised and overwhelmed with the involvement of her residents, team members and her family as each one presented her with roses as she drew close to Tray. The moment Tray proposed to Fili saying yes, they decided 2025 would be their year to unite as one. Fili and Tray could not be more thrilled for this next chapter of their life together to begin and are so excited to celebrate their true love with family and friends on July 18, 2025.
