Filia and Jerry met while working together at East Cobb Middle School. Although they were coworkers for 3 years they did not begin a friendship until August of 2023 when Jerry switched grade levels and was moved to the 6th grade hallway next door to Filia's classroom. After sharing plans to attend Dragon Con in August 2023 the two had their first outside of work outing. Shortly after Filia and Jerry began dating.

Filia and Jerry got engaged in July 2024 during a weekend mountain trip with their close friends.
