Back in the early summer of 2016, freshly moved into my apartment in Mississauga and very lonely, I received an invitation to a friend's last-minute pool party. I thought it would be a great opportunity to get out of the house, meet new people and have some fun. So I quickly packed up my bathing suit, a six pack of beer and my new dog, Henry, and we hit the road. Little did I know, a few hours later I would have made fast friends with a fellow Nickelback fan, bonding in the driveway over our shared love of 'How You Remind Me' (shut up - y'all know you secretly love it). After my seemingly platonic new buddy, Kevin, invited me up to his room to listen to the song, I started to wonder if perhaps I had made a slight error in judgement regarding how pure his dedication to Nickelback was. 

*Cue the frantic search around the party for my girlfriend to save me*

As I rounded the corner of the house, I ran headlong into Matt, whom I had met at a previous party. Acting on pure instinct, I politely requested he join Kevin and I on our musical journey through Nickelback's greatest hits. True to his character and without a second thought, Matt agreed and away we all went. Somewhere in that crazy mess of a night, with Kevin awkwardly looking on, I found my best friend.

We instantly bonded over our love of dogs (shout out to Griffin and Henry, our unsuspecting wingmen) and we forged an incredible connection that has lasted the better part of a decade. One that has carried us over countless hurdles and across many battlefields. Throughout it all, we have maintained the lighthearted, good humoured foundation we started with.

With our families, closest friends that feel like family, and some wicked highland cows, we are so excited to raise our blueberry margaritas and toast one hell of a great life together.
