Their love story was like a beautifully woven series of travel destinations. They would like to share with you all these four stops that they’ve encountered allowing them to meet and leading them to their union today.

First Stop: Their chance encounter

In the spring of 2016, Alex had traveled halfway across the world from China to San Francisco, California to attend the GDC (Game Developers Conference). As Alex was headed to the conference, as if by chance he ended up in front of a Citibank, the same bank where Fiona was starting her first day in her finance career. She braved up the courage to greet her first customer—him. And just like that, their two separate paths began to intertwine.

Second Stop: The Journey to the Heart

Over the next few months, their shared interests and never ending conversations drew their lives closer and closer. Alex decided to take the chance and planned a trip to Southern California, where he declared his feelings for her during a hot air balloon ride in Temecula. Underneath the radiant sunrise, they became a couple, linking their hearts as one.

Third Stop: The Journey to Commitment

Over the next six years of their relationship, both Alex and Fiona experienced life’s ups and downs, personally and as a couple. But with all of those experiences it only helped solidify their love, their devotion and commitment to one another. In 2023, Fiona took Alex on a trip to Europe to attend the Tomorrowland Music festival. On this special trip, Alex decided to propose to Fiona at Stiereck, right in the romantic city of Vienna. He got down on one knee and with her heart full of joy, she said “I do”. This moment further brought their relationship to the next level.

Fourth Stop: A Dream Come True

Traveling brought them both to meet, to fall in love and ultimately decide to continue their lives together. As traveling holds such a dear place in their hearts, they have both arranged for their wedding ceremony to be held this year at a beautiful church in York, England, witnessed by their parents, relatives and the priest. Travel has always been their lucky charm bringing them together, and as a pair they will continue to explore the beautiful world, as life itself is a beautiful journey.
