Fletcher & Max

Max and I met during our sophomore year of high school. We were in orchestra together, and we were sat at the same table in our English class. I was in our school's production of Footloose that spring, and I had told Max and another classmate earlier in the spring that they should come see it. They both told me that they wouldn't remember by the time the show came around, so I decided I'd email them the date and time of the show every day until the show. Max started responding to my emails, and we struck up a friendship that way.

Max actually had a crush on me for a while and told me, but I didn't reciprocate at the time. We drifted apart during our junior year, but drifted back together at the beginning of our senior year. We started dating soon thereafter, in November of 2016. We went to separate colleges, but decided to give long distance a try.

After my first year of college, I changed schools and programs and was all set to move into an apartment all by myself in Cedar Rapids, but Max, who wasn't in school at the time, decided to come with me, and we've lived together ever since.

After a year in Cedar Rapids, we moved to Ames so Max could go back to Iowa State. I mostly worked for the next couple of years, before going back to school myself.

Just this past summer, Max and I both graduated, and Max got a job at John Deere in the Quad Cities. We moved into a house in Moline at the end of July.

Our moving day was long and tiring, with hot weather, heavy furniture, and a two story house. Max decided to end off an exhausting day the right way by proposing!
