The Long-Distance Love Story

Florencia and Jordan's love story began with shy encounters in the parking lot while working for the same company. Flo from the Tax department had her eye on a young, handsome Engineer who, on Valentine's Day of 2018, strategically got out of his car at the same time as she did. While walking into work together, Jordan asked Flo what her plans were that night. Flo, through describing her plans of eating Chinese food with her father and step-mother, practically screamed "I'M SINGLE." Jordan got the hint, but had to take a couple of days to plan out his next move. On February 16, 2018, Jordan asked Flo out to dinner at Besito in Tampa and their journey began. That night, the two had the best first date they each have ever had. The second date took place at a Tampa Bay Lightning game, and the third date involved a sushi date and a first kiss. Flo's career and family plans drove her to move to South Florida shortly after the pair hit it off. The long-distance relationship began only a couple of months after the two started dating, and it had its fair share of ups and downs. Through it all, Flo and Jordan maintained their strong love for each other and overcame many hardships both in their relationship and outside of it. They are stronger together than they have ever been, and their love, respect and admiration for each other continue to grow daily.

The Engagement

For those of you who do not know Jordan, let us preface this by mentioning that he is not a morning person. For those of you who do not know Flo, she loves being active no matter the time of day. The week leading up to the engagement, Jordan had been waking up early to do some kettlebell workouts, which Flo was very impressed with. Jordan drove to South Florida to visit Flo for the weekend, and on Friday, Flo took Jordan out on a much-needed date just the two of them. They had Peruvian food and went to a drive-in theater to watch Tenet. That night before bed, Jordan mentioned that he wanted to wake up early and go on a run to watch the sunrise. Flo, surprised and proud, gladly agreed. On the morning of Saturday, October 10, 2020, Jordan was up before Flo and all ready to go before she even got out of bed. The pair ran about 2 miles to the beach, and took a short walk on the sand to catch their breath (and dig for the ring in the running belt) as the sun was coming up. They stopped walking and Jordan suggested out loud that this would be a perfect moment to propose. When Flo looked over at him to see if it was just another one of his proposal teases, he had the brightest ring she had ever seen in his hands and was in the process of kneeling down. The sunrise, the words and the ring were absolutely perfect. Jordan's plans didn't end there. He had sneakily grabbed Flo's ID, face mask (thanks, COVID), and his cash to take her to brunch at a restaurant on the beach that they were standing in front of. He also proposed in the morning to give her time to tell the exciting news to her extensive family in Argentina and family and friends in the US during the rest of the day (while he napped).
