Our Story

Picture of Our Story

Logan and I met in the summer of 2019 when I was living with two of my best friends (now bridesmaids), Shelby and Rae, who are sisters. Shelby and I graduated nursing school together from the University of South Alabama, Rae and Logan were college athletes together at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. After Rae introduced us, Logan and I were fast friends and the four of us spent almost every weekend together enjoying Birmingham events, grub, and breweries.

Logan (finally) asked me on a date in early 2020. If you ask him, our first date was at Little Donkey and it went wonderfully. If you ask me, that was the most awkward date of my life. Fortunately, I accepted his invitation on a second date to Mellow Mushroom. THAT date was the date when I knew.

Of course with early 2020 came, as we all know, the pandemic. As quickly as our date nights had begun they screeched to a halt as the entire world shut down. Logan was living at his family's lake house in Tuscaloosa to social distance and invited me to come enjoy the lake, kayak, grill, and boat around on weekends I wasn't working. As confusing and scary as 2020 was trying to navigate a new way of life during a pandemic, I look back fondly on the way our relationship and our bond strengthened quickly through unique and creative ways of spending time together.

Logan and I dated long distance for a couple of years starting in 2021 while we both traveled for work. I worked at several children's hospitals as a travel nurse all the way from Atlanta to Seattle while Logan traveled around the southeast scouting for the LA Dodgers. During this time we discovered our mutual love for travel and enjoyed trips together to places like Hawaii, Cape Cod, and Navarre Beach.

In 2023 I moved back to Birmingham and of course, we planned our next trip, Key West! (This is the proposal part of the story!) Our first full day in Key West after paddle boarding through a state park, we opted for a relaxing drink on the beach to watch the sunset before our dinner reservations. After sunset, Logan was down on one knee asking me to marry him! With no hesitation I said yes, and the rest is history! I feel so lucky to be able to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, and we cannot wait to celebrate with everyone in December!
