Although we love our little Brockley home, we’re dreaming of a garden for our pizza oven. So if you wish to gift, cash is the preferred method! We promise you’ll be invited for a slice 🍕
Venue
The ceremony is taking place in the Sveti Jakov church in the village of Kornić, located approximately 30 minutes from the Rijeka airport, and 10 minutes from the town of Krk. There is free parking available in the village central square, and by the road.
The party will then continue at the Olive garden Maslinik Ulika, 2.3 miles from the church, with free parking available.
Flying
Currently, there is only EasyJet flights from London to Rijeka airport on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Other closest airports are Pula, Zagreb, Ljubljana or Trieste, with RyanAir, British Airways or Croatia Airlines.
Accommodation
If you are flying just for the wedding, we would suggest you book a house or apartment in the village of Kornić, but be aware there are no tourist attractions or facilities apart from a local shop in the village.
If you are staying a few more days, and wish to explore the island, our suggestion is to book accommodation in the town of Krk, and rent a car or rely on taxis to move around the island. Another option is Baška, which is a bit further away, but you can enjoy beautiful views and crystal clear water.
What to see & what to do
Visit the old town of Krk, with its famous churches and Frankopan castle. Take a boat trip to Košljun, to a Franciscan monastery build on old Roman remains.
If you are up for a challenge and some amazing views, hike to the churh of Saint John in Baška (Matt's favourite spot on the island).
For additional information, consult the tourist board website https://krk.hr/en/
If you are staying longer and wish to travel different parts of Croatia, make sure not to skip Plitvička jezera and Zadar if you're going south, or Istra, a peninsula located west of Krk, with an abundance of vineyards, agrotourisms (drop us a line if you want recommendation where to eat), quaint towns (Motovun, Hum, Grožnjan, Rovinj...), and best truffles in the world.
