Here's some help on finding cheap flights to Nebraska. Spirit Airlines is a Bare Fare Airline, meaning you pay for your seat and one personal item to fly and that's exactly what you get. No free peanuts, drinks, seat selection, carry on, checked bags, leg room ETC... Any of these "Luxuries" come with a reasonable fee but for tickets on a budget this is the best choice. The drive from Kansas to Lincoln is 2hours 45mins.

We suggest searching for Departure and Return flights separate. Most of the time tickets are cheaper separate and even on different airlines.

Here are a few airports to choose from.

Lincoln Airport (LNK) is about a 15 minute drive from downtown Lincoln. This small airport has limited flights each day that run to and from Denver, Los Angeles, El Paso, or Chicago. Flights are all with Delta and United/Continental. Many downtown hotels (including the Cornhusker Marriott) have free shuttles to and from LNK.

Omaha International Airport (OMA) has more flights and a wider variety of airlines to choose from. OMA is about an hour drive from Lincoln (a great way to see a bit more of Nebraska!)

Flights are generally a bit cheaper into Omaha, but depending where you are flying from you can certainly find a good rate directly into Lincoln.

Kansas City International Airport (MCI) Kansas City Missouri is a bit of a drive from Lincoln (2hours, 45mins) but you have more airlines to choose from and with that comes cheaper tickets.

Here is a snapshot of a Round trip ticket through Spirit Airlines from Los Angeles, CA to Kansas City, Missouri for TWO people plus a car rental from 5/18/17 through 5/21/17. Best deal found so far. This does not include any extras such as car insurance, extra bags, ticket insurance ETC.

Des Moines International Airport (DSM) Des Moines Iowa is also a 3 hour drive from Lincoln. This is also a larger airport which has many airlines and cheaper tickets.
