Jillian and I have been friends since the start of junior high. We became fast friends, attended youth group together, and played in piano competitions together, often joining efforts to compete in duos (which we dominated!). Life took us on various paths through the years, but we always found our way back to each other, and it was like no time had passed. We are connected at the soul. And probably the stomach. Although Shannon and I knew each other from preschool age, we didn’t become close until early adulthood. But once we did, there was no separating us! Shannon has been the truest friend and confidant, always there with a listening ear, an empathetic heart, a shared tear, and a word of wisdom. I could NOT do life without you Shannon Michelle! Katie is my bestie, neighbor, sister, fellow duck-care-taker, and also mom of my real-life besties, Braxton and Cal. We started hanging out over our shared love of mischievous dogs and walking said dogs to keep the mischief to a minimum. Then her adorable son Braxton became my car wash buddy, and the rest is history! Our dogs are besties. We are besties. We care for the neighborhood Pekin ducks. We got matching duck tattoos. We make desserts like they're going out of style and then share them with each other and lament about needing to exercise. Life is full and happy and pure sunshine. Thanks to Katie. Kira is also my neighbor, sister, friend, and a member of the "no-one-can-move-from-this-neighborhood-unless-we-all-move-together" alliance (along with me and Katie). it is a special thing to have sweet friends across the street who are available to share a cup of sugar, a hug, a ride to Target or Marshalls, a Bible verse, whatever is needed in the moment.
