The downtown area of Staunton VA is a gorgeous town with lots of local shops, art galleries, antique shops, and restaurants to explore. Sarah and I fell in love with the town and it became our favorite date location! (Aren’t we so cute?)
Our wedding room rate can be booked following the website here: https://res.windsurfercrs.com/ibe/details.aspx?propertyid=14254&nights=2&checkin=4/26/2024&group=4832918&lang=en-us
A cute little museum right down the street from the venue. Nurse your hangover at a quiet place before getting yelled at by curators for taking selfies with a bust of the 28th president.
Located directly next to Hotel24, catch a play or show at the world’s only recreation of Shakespeare’s own 300- seat indoor theatre! Thespians, acoustics, history…. I swear it’s not as boring as it sounds.
Like cars? Like old stuff? How about both? Come look at old cars or whatever. At “The Finest Garage In The South” visitors can see an ever-changing collection of rare and exciting vehicles spanning nearly 100 years. Make sure to call about reservations!

Do you yearn for the smells of patchouli and superheated silicates? Come watch a hippie teach tourists how to blow glass! Sunspots is one of Sarah and I’s favorite stores in Staunton offering gorgeous tchotchkes and jewelry of the fancy glass variety.
Tired of terrestrial libations? Same bro, same. Ciders from Mars is the only source of very dry to semi-sweet ciders that are actually from Mars. Seriously! They can’t just lie about that sorta stuff, you know? They also have trivia nights, music, and a local vendors day on Saturdays.
Sip on local wines, munch on tasty charcuterie, and grab a bottle or two to bring back to the hotel to share with the bride and groom. Lord knows we’ll need it after all this wedding planning. Have you ever done this stuff before? Just elope to the Caribbean or something - seriously. Oh, and they also have good grilled cheese sandwiches.
While your in Staunton buying us last minute gifts, be sure to check out some of the fantastic local restaurants. A few of our favorites are Zynodoa, Aioli, Glorias Pupuseria, and Blu. Remedy Burgers, Mill Street Grill, Shenandoah Pizza, and Byers Street Bistro are pretty great for casual bites. The By and By has some of the best coffee in town and Split Banana is the place to go for ice cream. Man, I shouldn’t have written this on an empty stomach…
