FTW (Fall in Love with the Woods). It all started at school/work. Education is our life and math is our thing, so like 1+1 always = 2 we were meant for each other. Since we all know Woods it started with him telling “demanding” I get a sitter and then friend zoned me. I in return being crazy, scared, and bold basically called him out on it through text. That conversation turned into him inviting himself over and we have been inseparable ever since. We have each other whole heart and our connection is indescribable. They say good things comes to those who wait. We say Godly things come to those who pray. We didn’t know this love thing would happen and when I tried to run away he pulled me closer. We both prayed not knowing we prayed for each other. Our love grew stronger and a year later we continue to push through with God at the center of our lives...now who is ready for our&nbsp;full stories?

Fall In Love With The Woods

Not looking for love nor a relationship I was determined to find myself and enjoy the single life for the first time in years. I started to attend church with my children( Zaniyah-Rose & Zion) and knew we needed healing time together. Little did I know a small clique of co-workers started to hangout and Woods tagged along not knowing it was only because I was there. I remember yelling at him and calling him Freddy for the first time because he always was late when it was time to meet up. Constant meetups and endless friend groups he finally had enough with everyone being there so he tried to ask me out alone and that gave me the idea that he liked me for the first time ever. That night turned into him inviting all our co-workers along and me then thinking maybe he doesn’t like me. But then the text that confirmed he did followed a week later and I called him out on it. Woods came over and we stayed up until 5am talking all night. I felt normal with him, relaxed, loved, and protected. I found out he was a man of God and attended bible study faithfully every week and church every Sunday. I was shocked because I knew my husband would be a man of God. I prayed that if he was right for me to allow him to stay In my life but if not to remove him before he gets close. But God had a plan and Woods continued to love me through times I didn’t love myself. I knew that one night when I was at my lowest and he wouldn’t leave my side and he just held me and said, I love you that this man was different. My children fell for him just as I did and now we will all say I do together.

Her Story

Let’s keep it real for a second. Now, I have been in a couple of relationships over my short lifetime. Some relationships were more serious then others but for the most part they all had an expiration date. If you know me then you know that is the truth. I always thought of myself as the type that would one day have a kid and do my best to take care of mine. Then Felicia Tamera Best walked in my life and all that changed. I had recently been removed from a relationship and was not in the state of mind to jump into another one. I was having a good time doing me and living what I though was my best life. As the 2018-2019 school year was underway, I was becoming more serious in church and gradually started to change the way I was living for the better. My pastor took a couple of the men from my church out to breakfast one day and talked about the importance for a man to have a relationship with a woman. That a woman was created by god with the rib of a man. Therefore, I call Felicia my rib. At work I have been working hard and trying to do my best to be the best teacher I can be during that school year. Also, I would find my future wife throughout that process. The first thing that got my attention was her laugh. Every time I heard her laugh it made me laugh. When I saw her, I would have a smile on my face, and I did not know why. I loved the way she interacted with her daughter. With all that she was beautiful. We went out with co workers a few times and all those times I started to like her more and more. One night which I will not get into much detail about out of respect for my coworkers, me and her ended up being the adults taking care of everyone that night. In the car ride home, I knew that I was going to make a move on her I just did not know how. Which is strange for me because I always know what to say to girls. &nbsp;But with her I was nervous and just wanted things to be perfect. So, I saw her at the bathroom with her class one day and decided that I was going to make my move. I put my hand on her arm and said, “Yo, get a babysitter and let’s go out.” I left a lot less confident then I did when I made that statement. I don’t know why but I was nervous. So, like a punk I turned it into another group outing. I was feeling like Will Smith in Hitch. Fast forward to my trip to Atlantic City. I was on an AAU trip to Atlantic City with a basketball team that I was an assistant coach on. &nbsp;On the car ride back me and Felicia were in the middle on a text conversation. In the conversation she straight up asked if I was feeling her and want to hang out with just her. I said of course I wanted the one on one with her and get to know her better. That night once I got back, I invited myself over to her house. We talked all night and it felt good. I went home that morning hoping she would just give me a chance to be the man to make her happy. The more we hung out the more I was falling in love with her. I have been by her side ever since I came back from that trip and I hope I stay by her side for the rest of my life. I know that my mom and grandma are looking down blessing our relationship and are happy that I found my soul mate. Being with her, Miss Rose and Zion I am complete. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

So the story starts out pretty simple. August 2018 I was sitting in the cafe of ACCS Elementary school waiting for orientation to begin. Now there were several people there that I knew some, were even people close to me... yet I felt alone. Watching everyone greet each other from their summers off, happy to be back with their old squads. When in came this vibrant, exciting, LOUD high pitch laughing screaming person, with a little purple hair action going on. ( I respect it!its my favorite color, one of the many things we share in common) I laughed because I could tell immediately the type of person she was. I was then introduced to her officially and can we say the rest is history. You always hear people say time doesn't determine a friendship and, blood doesn't make you family. From the&nbsp;moment I was placed on the fifth grade team we gelled. Talking like sisters do sharing stories growths and failures. Pushing each other to new levels. Being on top of everything and being ABUNDANTLY upfront. From attitudes and tears to laughter and smiles. We became sisters in these 12 months. We prayed for each other, saw each other through some difficult times and now we both celebrate the JOY of NEW LIFE. The honor is truly mine being asked to be your Matron of Honor!! The definition of a Matron of Honor is a Married woman attending to a bride. all the knowledge that I have and the support that I have is all yours. Love you so much and I am grateful that God allowed our paths to cross! Now lets Turn Up.

So, Felicia & I were born conjoined at the hip, or at least that’s what it felt like (it’s also what we told many people). We’ve been best friends for the past (almost) 20 years and throughout our teenage years we were inseparable. We have way too many adventures to talk about, but sometimes I wonder how we survived or didn’t end up in jail. Also, I don't think she'd be impressed with me if I told you all the wild things we've done together. I met Felicia at a pretty tough time in my youth and she helped me tremendously - probably more than she realizes. I hadn’t smiled in a long time and this girl kept me laughing to the point of tears. Felicia was all about balance, always getting into trouble yet always keeping her grades up! How sway?! It was one of the many impressive things about her. I have never had anyone in my life that was always ready to go to war for me. Felicia has always had my back, even when it wasn’t in her best interest. We survived our first boyfriends, first jobs, and first heartbreaks together. She’s the little sister I never wanted! Even when life has taken us in different directions we always come back together without missing a beat. I’m so excited and honored to share yet another adventure with her. There's no denying how lucky I am to have a best friend like Felicia.

Sister of the brideI‘ve known Felicia since she burst out my mom. It has kind of been a pleasure being her sister. She bust me in the head with a brick at the age of 5. I remember the first time I pressured her into smoking marijuana she almost got smacked by a bus&nbsp; and&nbsp;I'm still laughing this day. But for real she is my little&nbsp;sister and I love her even though she didn't make me a maid of honor.

I am one of Felicia's close friends we met 12 years ago when we was fresh into college. We first started talking when Boo pressed me asking me if I had a brother in the school because there was this guy walking around looking like me. I told her no I have no brother but he must be cute if he looks like me. SIDE NOTE: he was my brother :) . After that me and Felicia developed a beautiful friendship filled with countless jokes, laughs and adventures. Boo had me joining every club you could think of when went to SUNY, I could not keep up with her. I always knew where to find her because you could hear outside yelling "SHEKINAH DO SHEKINAH DONT SHEKINAH WILL SHEKINAH WONT!! WHERE YOU AT?"  Over these years Felicia my Boo has been nothing but a blessing to me, someone i know I could always depend on even when life's responsibilities have kept us apart. I am so honored to be a part of this.

I’m Sparkle aka BigSparkDaLuvofYaLife(all one word)…I met Felicia when she was 15, I had been working with Denia and she always talked about how I reminded her of her daughter…Throughout the years we just clicked and before I knew it, I was part of a new family. The eldest daughter of the “Denia Crew.” I have watched Felicia go through Joy and sadness, triumphs and failures, love and heartbreak, and all while focusing on her education, being a great mom to her 2 kids, being an entrepreneur and always being a great friend. I have never met someone with so much focus and determination. She maybe younger than me, but I hope one day to grow to be just like her, with that same focus, that same drive, that same passion and that same determination. As Felicia adds another hat, “Wife” to her resume I am confident that she will tackle that with the same focus and grace that she does with all the other hats she wears. Jr Bridesmaid...I have been lucky enough to know Felicia (I call her Bunky) for my entire life. She was one of the first people I met when I came into this world. Not only is she my aunt, she is also my mom's best friend. Throughout my life I've been told I look like her, act like her, & am extremely clumsy like her (I don't think I'm THAT clumsy)! I can only hope to be as smart, ambitious and as tough as her as well. She has always been there for me! Even when she went through tough times, that I'm so glad to say she made it through. I’ve knew freddy for 15 years. Freddy is a hardworking man who didn’t have it easy growing up but persevered through challenges that made him the man he is. I remember the times when freddy would come down to the city and would knock on the door and I would scream “FREDDY” and jump on him. I also remember the time where we would buy tacos and watch pair of kings before I went to the greenhouse came. One thing that I will learn from him is life still goes on. In life it’s not always rainbows and unicorns, you come across sharp glass or legos on you feet(ouch that hurts) but at the end you see the pot of gold or the missing slipper which both Fred and Felicia found. As soon as we began speaking and sharing with one another our goals, I knew that we would not be just coworkers but share in a lifelong friendship. Felicia has served as a mentor for me in education as well as a role model in al of her business endeavors. Her tenacity and commitment never ceases to amaze me! I’m truly happy to have her as a good-good girlfriend and a confidant indeed! Freddy Woods, the groom himself! “Mr. Woods” as I knew him for most of my High School life, has been an outstanding educator at Albany community charter school for as long as I Can remember. Freddy has always been kind and has displayed a very consistent measure of commitment to the community in which he serves. He too is someone I look up to in Education. His perseverance and all of his sacrifices as it relates to his career never go unnoticed. Over the past year Freddy and I have formed a friendship that I believe to be lifelong and I consider him to be a big brother! As you both join in this union I pray Gods richest blessings over you.
