One of the biggest hallmarks of Fynn and Luna’s dating history has been the overarching goal to spend time abroad together. One of the things that Luna would joke about to Fynn would be “I’ll only marry you if you take me back to Japan.” This was mostly done as a way for Luna to distance herself from her growing feelings for Fynn, and to make sure they didn’t rush into getting married too early. Being able to travel abroad together seemed like such an insurmountable task that it became a wedding ultimatum, something to always discuss but never seriously consider.
As years went on, and hurdles came and went, the idea of being able to travel together seemed less and less likely. However Fynn continued to work tirelessly in the background and was able to save up enough to eventually make their dream a reality. In the spring of 2025 they were able to visit Japan again.
The trip was magical, the first one the young couple had spent by themselves. Train hoping from city to city, trying new food, seeing the cities, returning to favorite areas were all part of their plan. Although they had spent so much time planning, neither one had wanted to talk about the overarching reason for being there. “Weren’t we supposed to be getting engaged here?” Everyday was such an adventure with new sites to see and new things to experience, that the thought of slowing down never crossed their mind. On one of the last days of their trip, after Fynn carried around the engagement ring for two weeks through Japan, Luna finally decided she wanted to wear her new ring, and the rest is history.
