2020 brought a lot of sorrow and pain to a lot in this world, but there was one thing it brought that I am grateful for: a single opportunity. With many jobs lost many had to look for a future employment in new areas, including Crystal. In 2021 she found her way to the City of Holladay where the two of us met.
During an employee potluck our paths crossed and learned of our shared love of Disney, movies and many other nerdy things. Over the next months we bumped into each other again and again, both in and outside of work where eventually blossomed a friendship with many ups and downs.
Finally, on July 4th of 2023, while working the event and getting ready for the firework show we were paired up together and talking about relationships. It was in the conversation that God hit me with a brick of revelation that the woman who would help me become my best self and find joy in this life and in the eternities is the very same as the woman that was standing in front of me. Shortly afterwards we started to date.
Love felt easy for the both of us and life felt better when the other was there with us. Both in the mundane and the exciting, we wanted to share our time together. It didn’t take long for us to joke about us going to Disneyland together, but soon it was less jokes and more planning. By this point we both knew that eternity would be truly fulfilling with the other in it. With 2024 around the corner we scheduled our first of many long adventures together.
Finally on February 11th, 2024 we left for the road trip to California. After days on the road we make it to the Disney Parks where we immediately jump in showing each other our favorite things to do and finding more joy in them by sharing them together. In between the rides and treats a ring was picked and a plan set in motion. February 13th, in the main square of Main Street a question was asked, an answer was given, and a ring was snatched.
Now on June 15th 2024 we will have the beginning of the rest of our lives together and I for one am feeling like the luckiest man alive.
