Gabby and Kyle met on November 17th, 2018 when Gabby's friend, Olivia, asked her to go to a birthday "party" for Olivia's then boyfriend (now husband), Keegan. Turns out, it definitely was not a party, but just all the guys that lived at the Mifflin house getting drunk and watching Japanese horse racing videos on Youtube. It was a very amusing experience, to say the least. Gabby started wheezing badly while laughing because of her allergy to cats, since the guys also lived with Keegan's cat, Leia, and that's when Kyle said his first words to Gabby... "That was terrifying." It was super romantic and definitely didn't make Gabby think "who the F is this guy??" Needless to say, Gabby was interested in Kyle and at the bar asked Keegan and Olivia if he was single, so Keegan LOUDLY said "I'll go ask him! Kyle are you single?!" and then came back over to Gabby and Olivia and says 'YEP, HE'S SINGLE!" as if she hadn't heard him ask from 6 feet away, embarrassing! Regardless, she went up and bought Kyle a drink (a vodka soda, gross), that Kyle rightfully said 'no that's gross' (fair) because who would drink that? Luckily, they kept talking the rest of that night and afterward, which ended up in them dating a few months later.

In July of 2019, Kyle and Gabby moved in together into their first apartment on the far westside of Madison with their dog, Rufo! Sadly (or luckily) Rufo bit the mailman the following spring and caused Gabby and Kyle to have to move to their second apartment at the Deco, where they met a lot of their now close friends and adopted their second dog, Olive!

Kyle proposed to Gabby on October 1st, 2023 after dating for about 4 years. It was a total surprise to Gabby, since Gabby kept trying to plan her own proposal (she is a type A planner) and Kyle had to keep adjusting his plan to make sure she was genuinely caught off guard. She woke up before 7 am on that Sunday, which never happens, while Kyle was trying to plan his fourth proposal plan and was wide awake asking what they were going to do that day. Kyle had to pretend that he was actually really tired and going to go back to sleep which Gabby thought was super weird, because Kyle is not one to nap or go back to sleep after waking up, ever. But Gabby loves sleeping so she went back to sleep after repeatedly asking Kyle what he was thinking about (since he was not falling asleep right away), which gave Kyle time to go set up his plan quickly, in case Gabby woke up unexpectedly again. After everything was all set up, he woke Gabby up with coffee and asked if she could get up to help take the dogs out. Gabby had asked Kyle if it was cold outside, to which he said it was (spoiler alert - it was literally 80º out) so Gabby put on a sweatshirt, since Kyle had a jacket on. She thought it was really strange that he did that when they got outside and started sweating, but she just kept walking until they got to the park they frequent and realized that the picnic set up with pumpkins was in fact for her and not the family who was playing on the playground. It was a funny, surprising, and perfect proposal to represent their relationship (especially when Rufo decided he wanted to pee right next to the blanket while Kyle was proposing).

Gabby and Kyle closed on their first house on December 4th, 2023! They had so much fun going through the building process and customizing everything and are very excited to have all of their friends and family over soon.
