Love at First Swipe
It all started on a hot, 90 degree day in the summer; July 22nd, 2022 to be exact. It was an unremarkable start to a remarkable love story. Griffin was spending the day at work at his job as an electrician. Gabby was also at work, nannying two twins at a pool. Gabby checked Bumble and noticed a new match: a tall, cute guy looking for a girl with a good sense of humor and good taste in movies. Gabby chose to message him, despite her lack of movie taste. Griffin received a notification for Gabby’s message. Griffin reviewed Gabby’s profile and was hooked by her bio describing herself as, “Sassy, classy, and a little bit gassy,” Soon enough, he asked her out to grab drinks at Pins. Let’s just say, it was the best first date ever.
Firsts
Gabby and Griffin’s relationship quickly progressed and it soon became apparent to both that their love was something special. They had their first kiss and said “I love you,” to each other for the first time. They met each others’ friends and families for the first time. They celebrated holidays together for the first time, like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. They went on vacation as a couple for the first time to Tennessee and went on their first hike. They got their first apartment together in German Village. They saw their first concert together, which was Taylor Swift: the Eras Tour, which Gabby thinks cannot be beaten. They celebrated their first anniversary together, and look forward to a lifetime more!
She Said Yes!

It was the most perfect night. Gabby and Griffin were staying in Newport, Kentucky for the Taylor Swift concert in Cincinnati. The night before the show, they were walking around Newport, taking in the city. They stopped at Newport on the Levee to grab a drink by the river. Across the river, the Cincinnati Reds were playing in their stadium and Taylor was performing her first night of shows at the Paycor stadium, which was audible from where they were sitting. The sky provided the most spectacular sunset as a backdrop for what would soon become an unforgettable night. Griffin suggested they go sit on the rocks by the river. Gabby noted that Taylor was currently singing “Enchanted” across the river and remarked, “ This is a perfect night!” Then, Griffin got down on one knee, presented Gabby’s grandmother’s ring with a shaking hand, and said, “Gabrielle Marie Bouchard, will you marry me?” Gabby was so shocked and excited and kept saying, “Oh, my gosh! Are you serious?” And June 30th, 2023 became their favorite day. Until October 19, 2024!
