This is the person most disappointed about Gabe marrying Julia. Not because he doesn't like her, but rather due to the fact that he wants Gabe all to himself.
Lydia Andres - Maid of Honor
I have multiple stories of “first” meeting Gabe. One could say I first met Gabe at a freshmen year ordiantation lunch, or at a jazz dance on my first date with his brother, and my now husband, Luke. OR one might say that the first time we met was when Luke brought me over to the Andres house for a meal and to meet the family. While our first meeting might be a bit fuzzy and I may have thought his name was Gage for a few months, what is clear is that Gabe has always felt like a brother.
I met Julia maybe six months later when she started coming around for Sunday lunches. I had a good feeling about her, but as I didn’t want to scare her away never asked what they were, instead we spent that school year laughing at dumb TV shows together. I am very excited to say that feeling I had was correct :)
A bit about me, I attended Northwestern 2019-2022 where I met my husband Luke, we have been married since the summer of 2023. We currently live in Princeton, NJ where I am working on my Masters of Divinity. And we can’t wait to celebrate Gabe and Julia this fall!!

I’m Gabe’s older brother! Growing up only a couple years a part and with similar curiosities let to many fun memories and never led to me getting Gabe into trouble (sorry!). We loved being outside playing imaginary games, kicking soccer balls, and chasing our pugs around the house… I guess we haven’t changed that much. Its always been fun to get competitive even if we ended up in the same band, soccer team, or theater group because at the end of the day (and maybe a little cooldown time), we would always respect each other and be back to being bros.
I’m married to the maid of honor, Lydia! We are currently in Princeton, NJ while she finishes up her masters degree. I’m working in IT at a small private school, while enjoying playing disc golf and volunteering at our church.

I grew up in South Dakota and met Julia at a basketball game when I was 6. After the years of playing with model horses, to riding real ones, and from pvc and cardboard fights to her convincing me to join tennis, to bonfires and late night talks, I am so extremely blessed to be honored with being here for Jia on the biggest day of her life.
I love the outdoors, dancing, and devouring spicy wings. Favorite movies: The Man from U.N.C.L.E, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and A Town Called Panic. If I were an animal, I think I would be a seal. Maybe just because they're one of my favorites. I think spinach and artichoke is the best dip to exist and that kombucha is a highly underrated drink. Also rather than 70% water, my body is 70% caffeine

I actually transferred to Northwestern College (NWC) the same time that Julia did, and we were in the same campus tour group. Besides also living in the Hospers dorm, the first time I actually met Gabe, was helping his dad move a couch at his house. I didn’t have many friends upon transferring to NWC despite being from the local area. After hanging out in the Hospers lobby a couple times, I was later adopted into the friend group and we have been good friends ever since.
I was born and raised in the NW corner of Iowa. Currently live in Sioux Center Iowa just down the road from NWC in Orange City. I enjoy being outside fishing, camping, and golfing. I also play and watch a lot of ice hockey. I attended NWC a couple of semesters before deciding to take some time off. I have had a couple of jobs since and some of my favorites are working as a Paraprofessional at the local middle school, being a summer camp counselor at Okoboji, and filling in for my dads pest control business.

The first time I saw Julia, she was maybe nine years old, playing some game, most likely having to do with horses, with my little sister (Cate) under the Rapid City Christian staircase. I remember thinking, "Who is this girl?" Ever since then, Julia has continually caused me to ask that question over and over again in the best kind of way. Never ceasing to surprise others with her enthusiasm and dedication (as well as, add a voice of cautious wisdom) to the group, Julia has been an unexpected joy and the best of friends. She puts thought and care into every moment she spends with others. Through cozy Barbie movie nights, flamed Roman candle fireworks, frozen ice skates, wet sledding adventures, and New Years Eves wishes, Julia has been a fun and be crazy lady, but she has also been considerate and compassionate friend. She is one who meets people where they are at, not at where they should be. Even though I have known Julia for more years than not, I think back to that first time I met her and that first question, which I am still asking but now more in wonder and gratitude, "Who is this lady?" I do not think I will ever have a complete answer to that because Julia, that sweet girl playing with such joy under the stairs at a boring basketball game, will forever be surprising me with her bravery, strength, compassion, joy, kindness and, most importantly, love for God and people. I am so proud to know her and am blessed to be part of this big day with one of the best ladies in the world! Onward!

I’ve had the privilege of growing up with Gabe as my cousin, even though we’ve lived in different states our whole lives. Every holiday and vacation we spent together has proved that our friendship is not based on distance. Whether it was building forts, spending a camping trip playing in the woods, nerding out about Dungeons & Dragons, or just catching up on life, Gabe and I have always had a special bond. Watching him find someone as amazing as Julia has been such a joy, and I’m beyond honored to be standing by his side as he marries the love of his life.
Though I haven’t known Julia as long, she made me feel so welcome from the moment we met. When Gabe and Julia asked me to be in their wedding, I couldn’t say yes fast enough—it was an easy decision to make!
When I’m not serving tables, you’ll likely find me at lunch catching up with friends or hunting for records to add to my growing vinyl collection. Music is a huge part of my life, and I’m always on the lookout for my next live show—whether it’s Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves, or festivals like Governors Ball. I guess you could say most of my spending money goes to making memories at concerts, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I grew in Rapid City and when I entered middle school, I decided to try tennis. Little did I know that I would be playing most of my tennis career with Julia. Cate, Mia, Julia, and I became close over our little AK47 group (ask Julia how we got that name) and had many laughs late into the night before big matches when we should have been sleeping. After many years of playing together on the same team, Julia and I decided to visit Northwestern College together. We both pursued a degree there and continued playing the sport of tennis together. Now, we encourage one another as we each move into this next chapter. That being Julia getting married and I am still at school, haha. Julia is amazing and I love the many laughs that is shared with her…and now Gabe as well.
I am now in my senior year of college finishing my nursing degree and am so open to seeing where God leads me next!

I met Gabe through Hospers Hall at Northwestern College, Gabe was a year older than me but was connected to my roommate. We began to hang out some at floor events and we grew into the friendship we have today. I connected with Julia through Gabe, playing board and card games with the group of friends at NWC.
I grew up in Southeastern Minnesota and currently I am a student at Northwestern College studying Elementary Education. Some of my hobbies are making music in the band and choir, playing disc golf, and playing a variety of board games. I also enjoy spending time with family and attending different events at NWC and back home in Minnesota.

I grew up in a military family, landing in South Dakota near the end of my childhood. Julia was one of the first close friends I had here and has continued to be so, evident by the fact that Julia was a bridesmaid in my wedding this past June! I ALSO shared lots of PVC sword and cardboard shield wars with Cate and Julia (Hunger Games style in the woods of course), hot tub movie nights, Mountain Dew movie marathons, fuzzy sock (for dat extra sneak) hide and seek in her HAUNTED house, van games on the way to tennis tournaments, and much more. We have especially grown close as we’ve braved this strange thing called adulthood together… it’s meh. Julia is still great though.
I work as a nurse in the ER in Rapid City, South Dakota and live with my weird (in a good way) husband, Travis. (We’re both weird)

I'm Julia's older brother, Joshua. I got out of the army in April 2025 as a staff sergeant 19D cavalry scout, and joined the SD Guard after being active duty for 8 years. I was stationed at Fort Campbell KY (101st airborne division)
Schofield Barracks HI (25th infantry division)
Fort Cavazos TX (1st Cavalry division).
I've missed Julia so much in those 8 years and in my mind she's still like 12 years old. It's crazy to me that she's about to get married. And our parents have nothing but good things to say about Gabe. I haven't met him at the time of writing this, (02/18/2025) but I trust Mom and Dad's judgement and I'm sure he's a good guy and will treat Julia amazing. I can't wait to see what the good Lord has in store for the two of y'all.

Hi, I’m Gabe’s sister and proudly one of the contributors to his full name, Gabriel Michael Joshua Alex Andres (he may or may not have been named after my kindergarten crush, Alex). I’ve known Gabe since his birth, the curls he had as a toddler, the laughs and rapt attention to audiobooks on our road trips, the storming out when losing a game, and the delicious lemon blueberry cakes he started baking in middle school. Gabe has always felt deeply for the world and those he cares about and I’m so happy he’s found someone he cares so deeply for. I’m so excited for another sister in the family ☺️
A little about me: I’m a librarian, teacher, and lover of books, particularly fantasy, gothic horror, and speculative fiction. I most recently read Piranesi and would recommend it! I’m also an artist and inspired by illustrators like Virgil Finlay, Edward Gorey, and Pauline Baynes. In my free time, I like playing D&D, finding cool and eclectic things around Atlanta, and going to concerts.
