We love the zoo! It was where we had our first date and many more after that :). Plus, the wedding directly supports animal care, educational programs, and conservation efforts that help preserve wildlife and wild places for years to come.

The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is not the same as the DC National Zoo (the one famous for their pandas). The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore holds a more special place in our hearts as it was our first date location and is the place we go to more often as it is closer to our house

Unfortunately we are not providing tickets/entry to the zoo. The mansion house is on zoo grounds but is separate from the zoo. If you would like to purchase tickets yourself and go before the wedding, please see the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore's website. We WILL have at least one animal ambassador animal at the reception!

Because we aren't sure where people want to stay, we have not blocked off an official hotel. Baltimore has lots of hotels that are in the city or outside of the city.

There is plenty of parking at the Mansion House and there are usually a lot of Ubers available in Baltimore (please make sure you have a DD or plan on taking an uber)

The ceremony will be taking place outside by a pond and the reception will be at the mansion house, both are wheelchair accessible. If it rains, the wedding will only take place at the mansion house. Service animals are allowed. There will be a small 'quiet-er' area as well in the mansion house and there will be access to the outside for those who have sensory issues. Smoking and vaping are only permitted in the designated area outside of the Main Gate entrance.

We are going to be married under the roman catholic archdiocese of Baltimore. A priest or a deacon will arrive on behalf of the church at a beautiful pond at the zoo next to the Mansion House (where the reception will take place). The priest/deacon will perform our wedding nuptials where we will fulfill the sacrament of marriage. We will not be hosting a mass as this will be outside of the church. The only difference between the two is that the eucharist will not be provided, everything else is the same.

As long as the local archdioceses allows it; each area has its specific rules and requirements. Our priest/deacon had to obtain permission from the achdioceses as well as the closest roman catholic church/priest in order to perform the ceremony outside of our church. But yes, the Roman Catholic Baltimore Archdioceses allows weddings to be outside of the church (as long as it isnt like at a bar or something).

Early September can be hot in Maryland, so wear something comfortable for you. What you would normally think to wear to a wedding is a-okay with us! (Some people have asked us to write officially 'formal attire' but we won't kick you out if you aren't fancy enough haha)

Are both allowed. We will be livestreaming the ceremony, details to be released later. And we will be recording as well.

While a typical bridal shower can be gender-specific or highly focused on the bride's side, a wedding shower includes all! It's usually a larger event that has more of a party atmosphere :)
