We actually owe a lot of thanks to Gabriels brother, Noah. Gabe and I first met after serving at CedarCreek Churchs middle school camp, when my friends and Noah decided to go out for drinks the night we got home. Noah invited Gabe to tag along, and so he did. Other than the general meeting at the beginning, I dont think Gabe and I said a word all night...oops, haha.
A couple days went by, and Gabe and his family had gone on vacation near Mackinaw in Michigan. He posted something about being there on his Instagram story, and I commented on it, wishing him the best time and stating that I loved it up there - see, my family vacations up near Mackinaw every year, and it’s my favorite place.
Conversations continued very easily after that, and about a week later, he was playing at the Toledo Zoo for Christmas in July. I attended with a bunch of my friends and Noah, and after we all went out to eat. Gabe and I ended up sitting across from each other, and talked the entire night.
Some weeks went by and we hung out a couple times with friends and continued to have conversations, eventually moving to phone conversations while I was out of town for a couple weeks. When I got back, we spent more time together, dating and then meeting siblings, closer relatives, and parents all before we inevitably made our relationship official on September 11, 2021.
