Our Wedding

We met while working together at Golden 1 Credit Union. For nearly a year, we were just coworkers who slowly became close friends — the kind of friends who made long workdays feel a little lighter. Eventually, that friendship grew into something neither of us wanted to ignore. We broke the “golden rule” and never once regretted it. Just one month into our relationship, life tested us in a way most new couples never experience. Gabriela’s dad — who she was incredibly close to — became ill and passed away suddenly. It was the darkest period she had ever walked through, and our relationship was still so new, but we faced it together. Standing beside each other through that grief showed us the strength of the connection we were building — a love grounded in patience, comfort, and unwavering support. That same loyalty and tenderness flowed both ways. Ethan’s deep love for his family, especially his grandparents, was one of the first things that showed Gabriela the kind of man he is. When Ethan’s grandmother passed away, we leaned on each other again — two people learning how to give the same kind of love we hoped to receive. The day after she passed, we drove to Bodega Bay in her honor — a place Ethan had treasured since childhood. It became a place for both of us: a small stretch of coastline that held peace, reflection, and a reminder of what really matters. It quickly became our spot. Two months later, we returned to that same place — together, stronger, and so sure of the life we wanted to build. It was there, at our favorite spot in Bodega Bay, that Ethan asked the question that would change everything. And of course…We said yes to forever.
