Erik and Gabriela’s journey started when they first met back in 2018. Erik was newly hired to be a caregiver at Touchmark at Fairway Village, where he was then trained by his colleague, and future wife, Gabby. Shortly after he started, Gabby’s beauty and compassion for others quickly caused Erik to want to start his life with her; and with Erik’s charm and persistence, Gabby eventually agreed. In May of 2022, Gabby and Erik got engaged in Los Cabos, Mexico. With their story still unfinished, they are excited to invite you as they return to Mexico to celebrate the start of a new chapter in their lives.

Erik and Gabby first met in the fall of 2018 where they were both CNAs in a memory care unit at Touchmark at Fairway Village in Vancouver. Gabby ended up being the lucky one who got to train Erik on his first day, little did she know it would be the day she met her future husband. There were a total of three guys who worked as CNAs when Erik started, so he was a hot commodity. After a few weeks of Gabby trying to avoid dating a coworker, Erik eventually got her contact info and asked her out on their first date. Gabby almost canceled due to severe cramps, but she decided to go anyway. When she got to the boba shop, Erik was there with flowers, ibuprofen, and chocolates and Gabby knew he was a keeper. Erik and Gabby started dating and went to various concerts, trips to the coast, and hiking. Eventually, Erik got into nursing school and Gabby followed soon after. When Gabby’s Dad was diagnosed with cancer, Erik was one of her biggest support systems and helped take care of Carmelo in ways he was never expected to. Once Gabby and Erik graduated, they went on a trip to Cabo with friends and family and Erik proposed the night they got there. Gabby was surprised and swears she had no idea. Later that year, Erik bought a house in Vancouver where he and Gabby live with their dog Tater Tot and their story continues.
