Isaac and Gabriellaʻs story began weeks before they met. It began when a friend of hers, Katie, mentioned meeting Isaac while hanging out with another mutual friend of theirs, Ethan. Katie had told Gabriella that although she did not say a single word to Isaac, she just knew he was the one for her. A few weeks later, their friend groups planned to go to a local bar and Gabriella had been told Isaac was coming. Unbeknownst to her, Isaacʻs friends had been encouraging him to approach her when they met. They hit it off right away and talked the entire night. The next day, the two groups planned a trip to Kaena Point and Makua beach on the West side of Oahu. Isaac and Gabriella continued to gravitate toward one another. They talked, laughed, and drifted away from the group to get to know one another better. The conversation never ended between them. They spent as much time together as possible. He drove her to and from work, went out of his way to bring her sweatshirts when she said she was cold. They went on dates, accompanied each other to the gym, did school together, painted, and told each other what they wanted their futures to look like. The more they talked the more Gabriella knew Katie was right: He was the one. They started officially dating in August 2023. Gabriella met Isaacʻs family and fell in love with all his nieces and nephews. Watching Gabriella interact with his family solidified the idea that Gabriella would be the one for him, too. After 10 months of dating, Isaac planned to propose to Gabriella. He spent weeks creating a ring box made from Ko wood and blue resin. With the help of her roommate, Sadie, and Katie, they created a diversion plan, then stuck Gabriellaʻs head in a bag and drove to the proposal spot, Makua beach. He got down on one knee by the water and proposed with her motherʻs old ring. Gabriella, of course, said yes. The newly engaged couple then moved to Denver, Colorado so Isaac could advance in flight school and she could get her Masters in Social Work at University of Denver. Gabriella converted to Catholicism to ensure unity in their future family and marriage. Isaac and Gabriella plan on traveling together, building a family, strengthening their faith, and choosing to love each other every day for the rest of their married lives.
