Below are some of our favorite things to do and places to eat while we are in our favorite mountain town!

Jethro's is Gabi's favorite place to grab coffee with friends and sometimes Jay... but he doesn't like coffee haha! She also spent many an hour here during grad school at UNG. The friendly atmosphere and cozy chairs are so fun!

And right now, they have an AMAZING seasonal menu! Gabi's personal favorite is the "Cup of Cheer" or all year round, the "Golden Nugget" drink.

Picnic Cafe is a great go to breakfast spot or grabbing a coffee or cocoa to walk the Dahlonega square. Everything is made from scratch and they have amazing desserts and pastries that are shareable... or not haha!

A great local breakfast spot with all a wide variety home cooked, southern breakfast faves! The pancakes and cinnamon rolls are huge!

This is located just just a mile or two from the Dahlonega Square.

A little taste of New Orleans, brought to Dahlonega! Gabi and Jay had many a weekend brunch date here as Jay loves cajun and creole culinary! Everything is delicious and yes, they have beignets!

Highly recommend for weekend brunch, lunch, or dinner!

Grab a gourmet burger, chicken sandwich, and other amazing foods at this Farm-to-Table restaurant!

This little Irish Pub is another favorite! Great food and laid back atmosphere! Great lunch or dinner spot and the "Crack Dip" appetizer is a must!

In the mood for some yummy tacos, chips, salsa, and queso? Definitely dine at Pueblo's. This is a Dahlonega staple!

Take a stroll around the beautiful UNG campus- Jay and Gabi's (and many members of the bridal party) Alma Mater!

See the new fountain at the front entrance of campus (across from Papa Johns) and go for a walk around the Drill Field. One of the best places to get a selfie is on top patio of Chow (the Dining Hall).

You can even visit the North Georgia Suites parking lot, the spot where Jay asked Gabi to be his girlfriend on May 15, 2020! Located at: 255 Sunset Dr, Dahlonega, GA 30533

Another great photo op is at the gold steeple, at UNG's Price Memorial Hall.

Enjoy an old fashioned Christmas experience in Dahlonega, Georgia! The popular Christmas Market on Candy Cane Lane is held at the Community House, 111 North Park Street and in Hancock Park just steps away from the historic downtown Dahlonega Square.

Juried artists and craftsmen offer a variety of unique gifts and holiday decor items, handcrafted and affordably priced. Shop a selection of themed gift baskets and homemade sweets packaged for gift-giving or celebrating the holidays.

Hosted by Dahlonega Woman’s Club, this annual fundraising event is the perfect opportunity to shop for gifts, stock up on sweet treats, and embrace the holiday spirit, while helping the Dahlonega Woman’s Club raise funds to enrich the lives of children of the community.

Travel 200 feet underground and 100 years back in time!

You and your family will enjoy a 40 minute Underground Adventure of a REAL Mine with one of our friendly and knowledgeable staff members. As you descend the stairs, you will hear tales of miner’s struggles to uncover gold deep within large quartz veins. Your tour guide welcomes interaction from the group as you experience life as a miner at the turn of the century.

After your tour, you will receive gold panning instructions from some of the best panners in the world, having won numerous awards in the field. Then you will get a chance to try if for yourself and hopefully you’ll strike it rich! All paid admissions get a FREE Gold Panning Sample.
