We’re not providing transport between the venues, so you’ll need to make your own way. It’s not a walkable route (unless you fancy a stroll down a fast country road with no pavement – we wouldn’t recommend it!).
To make things easier, we’ve listed some local taxi firms at the bottom of the page. Much safer and much more comfortable.
Ceremony - Holy Infant & St Anthony RC Church
From Manchester:
Travel north on the A666 towards Darwen. In Astley Bridge, you will see Asda on your left. Turn left after Asda onto Crompton Way, and continue straight. At Vets for Pets, turn right onto Drummond Street. Follow the road to the end and turn left onto Vantomme Street. Follow the road to the end, the church car park will be on your left.
From Blackburn:
Take Bolton Road heading south toward Astley Bridge.
Turn right onto Crompton Way at the junction, before Asda. Turn right at Vets for pets onto Drummond Street.
At the end of the road turn left onto Vantomme Street.
Follow the road to the end, the church car park will be on your left.
Bus stops are located near Asda and The Pineapple Inn, both within a 5-10 minute walk from the church. The number 1 bus runs every 30 minutes and connects both Bolton and Blackburn railway stations to the area.
Reception Venue - Astley Bank Hotel, Wedding and Conference Venue
Situated just off the A666 Bolton Road south of Darwen town centre, turning opposite the Spinners pub and then immediately left up the street by the sign for the hotel.
If you are using public transport, there are bus stops on Bolton road by the Spinners pub. The number 1 bus stops every 30 minutes, travelling to both Bolton and Blackburn Railway stations.
