How We Met

November 2021

Gabrielle and Byron met through a popular dating app and decided to link up for brunch in Rice Village in Houston. Gabrielle thought the place would be a good option if she needed to escape, as it was walking distance from her apartment at the time. Byron’s persistence impressed Gabrielle and by date number three, sparks were in the air. After going through initiation and hazing with Gabrielle’s four brothers, it was official by Christmas.

The Proposal

Gabrielle and Byron love to travel. They experienced the “pura vida” lifestyle of Costa Rica, ate street tacos in Mexico City, and literally “broke a leg” in the waves of La Jolla cove. In planning a trip to Portugal, Byron mistakenly sent a very important email to Gabrielle’s inbox. When she received a text saying, “DO NOT READ THAT EMAIL,” she knew he was up to something. Byron is not very good at keeping secrets. Nonetheless, Gabrielle was impressed when he asked her to marry him on the beautiful hillside of Douro valley overlooking centuries-old, terraced vineyards.
