Preston and Gabrielle’s paths crossed in the spring of 2019 at Texas A&M University. Gabrielle, then an undergraduate Research Assistant, was working with a visiting professor and also took on the role of mentor to her peers. Preston, one of the mentees, soon caught her eye. Their playful banter in the lab blossomed into romance when Preston invited Gabrielle to join him and his friends at Northgate to celebrate receiving his Aggie Ring—a significant milestone. Their connection was undeniable, and they began dating.

However, their budding relationship faced an immediate challenge. Shortly after they became a couple, Gabrielle relocated to Midland, Texas for a new job opportunity, while Preston remained to complete his Field Camp, a requirement for his degree. This marked the beginning of their long-distance journey. Over the ensuing five and a half years, their love story unfolded across various cities including Midland, Fort Worth, The Woodlands, and Denver, Colorado.

Now, that Gabrielle has graduated, she and Preston are poised to begin a new chapter together in the vibrant city of Midland, Texas, where they will finally close the distance that has spanned their relationship and, at last, begin their marriage.
