Background info to know before going:
Italy has 20 regions, all of which offer different attractions and landmarks.
CJ and I will be visiting 8 regions: lazio, umbria, tuscany, emilia romagna, veneto, campania, sicily, and calabria
This will be helpful for travel plans/booking
Our wedding is in the Umbria region which is countryside
Frequent Questions:
Where to stay in Montefalco?
There are air b&b’s and hotels in or near Montefalco
Foligno is a little bigger and is only 15 mins away if you would prefer to stay there!
How to communicate with locals?
Google translate will be useful (you can download the app) this app will allow voice recordings to be translated easily so you are able to efficiently communicate
How can I talk with people back home without racking up international charges?
Use the app called whatsapp (have your family, friends, etc download this app) you can use it to call/text/facetime/etc in order to communicate without any charges
How will I get from place to place?
All of the bigger cities offer great public transportation
Unfortunately we are getting married in the countryside
There are bus options (but very limited)
You can consider scooter rentals while in Montefalco but it is recommended to rent a car
There is car rentals in Rome, spoleto, foligno, perugia (we are renting a car from Rome and driving to montefalco)
If you rent a car it does require special authorization, you will need to apply for a special license to do so.
Our recommendation is to rent a bigger car, split the price with others coming, and have one person fill out the form to drive in italy.
What if we do not want to rent a car?
You can take the train from Rome to spoleto or foligno and then take a bus into Montefalco. Once you arrive in Montefalco someone will need to come pick you up.
You can view train options on the app OMIO and then bus options on Busitalia
What is the attire for the wedding?
Formal attire
No black please!
Very colorful and dressy choices (see below for inspo)
Do yall have a registry?
Yes!
