Gab & Travis's Favorite Spots

For the Foodies

It should come as no surprise that Travis and I are big foodies, so we wanted to compile a small list of some of our favorite restaurants for y'all to try out, especially if you're coming in down for the first time.

- Banh Mi Boys: our absolute favorite spot for a quick bite! We love to split one of their loaded fries and usually try a different Bahn Mi every time. They have two locations in the New Orleans area.

- Cafe 615 | Home of Da Wabbit: if you are interested in trying some traditional New Orleans food, I'd highly recommend Da Wabbit in Gretna. When I would come home after being away at school, eating at the Da Wabbit would always satisfy my shrimp po'boy craving.

- Copper Vine: whenever Travis and I have something we want to celebrate, we consistently end up at Copper Vine. We usually order a few different appetizers and then up full before our entrees even get to the table. They also have a great cocktail selection and a bunch of wines on tap.

- Daiwa: a great upscale sushi restaurant that makes for one of our favorite date nights. They also have great drinks! They have two locations, one in Metairie and another on the Westbank in Marrero.

- Shaya: one of the BEST places for Middle Eastern food in the city, my mouth is literally watering thinking about their pita bread and hummus. Highly recommend the cauliflower hummus and everything else on their menu. Located Uptown less than 10 minutes away from our ceremony venue.

- Toast: with the Gretna location less than two minutes away from my apartment, Toast is one of Travis and I's favorite brunch spots in the city. If you're looking to try something unique, the Aebelskivers with Nutella are a delicious treat, but if not, the breakfast sandwich is my go-to.
