A little over 5 years ago, Gabrielle was just another college student who loved going to Catherine Rooney's on Mainstreet in Newark every Thursday night for the $5 pitcher deal....and to see the cute DJ that just so happened to be Jimmy. It took a couple weeks of Gabrielle dancing a little too close to the DJ booth before Jimmy finally made the first move and called her up to say hello. I'm sure you've heard this line a million times, but from that point on it was very clear that the two would be inseparable.It was not until over a year later that on Halloween of 2019 that Jimmy brought Gabrielle to his parent's house, unannounced, and was welcomed with open arms by the ever famous Jean and Jake (who was decked out in the best pirate costume, not expecting to meet his son's girlfriend for the first time). Shortly after that, Gabrielle broke the news to her parents' about her new boyfriend. Jimmy met Big Tony for the first time while Gabrielle was moving out of Newark as some extra hands were needed to get the furniture out of an apartment (brownie points were earned). Jimmy later met Terri and after an intense interrogation from a 5 foot italian woman, was officially welcomed to the family. Gabrielle moved in a couple months after and life together officially began. During the holiday season in 2020, Jimmy FINALLY had enough of Gabrielle sending him 50 pictures of dogs a day. Very early on a Saturday morning, the two took the road trip to pick up their yellow lab/husky puppy that they named Emmie. If you know Gabrielle and Jimmy, you know just how much Emmie means to them. The two continued to experience life together, in addition to their crazy pup. Gabrielle accomplished a promotion at work and Jimmy celebrated graduating from his apprenticeship and moving into his new position. Jimmy also began a huge project of re-doing an antique boat that would one day mean so much to not only him, but Gabrielle. After being together for almost 4 years, the questions and comments about getting engaged began. Gabrielle about lost her mind waiting for that special day. Many times she told Jimmy "I don't care if i'm in my pajamas, just do it!!!". In true Jimmy fashion, he took his time. After having the talk with Gabrielle's parents asking for their blessing, the ring was officially chosen. Jimmy got the final confirmation that it was meant to be after the jewelry store that he got the ring from was broken into, but the one he purchased was not taken. During quite literally the most important week of the year for Jimmy, The Flounder Pounder Tournament, he made the plan to finally ask Gabrielle to marry him. Gabrielle came down the beach, completely prepared to barely even see Jimmy because of the tournament. On a day Jimmy was not fishing, the two spent the day on the beach with some friend's. After being on the beach all day, Gabrielle was in a bit of a cranky mood and was looking forward to showering, eating dinner, and then calling it a day. Little did she know, Jimmy had other plans... The antique boat Jimmy redid, now known as the Lady Sadie, was officially done and ready for a ride. The two had taken the boat for a ride before, but never down the beach. Just before sunset, Jimmy packed a backpack with a small cooler, and told Gabrielle they were going on a boat ride to watch the sunset. The two rode the boat to a little beach in the Rehoboth Bay and about 10 minutes after arriving, the big proposal happened!!! After sharing the great news and celebrating their engagement, the planning began. Next thing you know, the venue was picked and the date was set! September 21, 2024 will be the start to Gabrielle and Jimmy's forever!
