When Daniel and I started dating Junior Year at SUNY Maritime College, we had already known each other since Freshman year. I'll admit that when he stole my uniform glove it was rather comical, but my hands were really cold, so needless to say, I wasn't pleased. However, he made it up to me by taking me to the Spring Formal, so I decided to not hold the "glove incident" against him.

After traveling the world and adventuring together for three months on our Senior Summer Sea Term, we faced a challenging Senior year. After graduating, we started working for the same company in hopes of being assigned to the same ship, or even the same part of the world. Even though this hasn't happened yet, we've managed to maintain our long distance relationship while on different ships with an end result of a stronger relationship. We've also been lucky enough to plan our time off together and have adventures while on leave.

When we got home for our second leave period, Daniel picked out a ring and asked my Father's permission to marry me. Shortly after, while we were in New Hampshire, he got down on one knee (while one of my favorite country love songs played in the background...cue the waterworks) and asked if I would marry him. He took me by surprise so I was speechless! All I could muster was nodding my head as tears of joy filled my eyes and rolled down my cheeks. I then noticed that he was waiting for me to actually respond...and of course I said yes!

This, of course, is just the beginning of "Our Story", and I can't wait to see where life takes us!
