It was 2020 and at the height of the pandemic Gabbie and Daniel found each other. . .online. How fitting for a year of quarantining to meet your person through the internet! As the conversations rolled along, the more their connection grew.
As the weeks came and went, the more they learned of each other’s likes, dislikes, and discovered that they were running in the same circles through undergrad, but never into each other. Daniel asked Gabbie out for their first date to Olde Tyme Grocery in Lafayette, Louisiana, followed by a trip to Borden's Ice Cream, and a movie - Disney's Onward where Gabbie ended up blubbering like a baby at the end. (If you have not seen it, highly recommend it.)
A few weeks went by, and Gabbie's birthday was approaching in May. Daniel said he would like to cook for her, so he planned a late lunch at his brother and sister-in-law’s house for the day after her birthday. That was the day he asked her to be his girlfriend and she happily said yes!
Within the first few months of their relationship, they experienced two hurricanes, a freeze, and a flood all while the country was going through a pandemic. A lot of these moments were spent apart as Gabbie lived in Lafayette and Daniel lived in Lake Charles, resulting in commuting back and forth in the first two years of their relationship.
In April of 2022, Gabbie moved to Lake Charles to be closer to Daniel. Within that year, they switched careers, they got Scout (their Golden Retriever), bought their first home, and welcomed Daniel's niece in November. On July 4, 2023, Daniel proposed in front of their families and again, Gabbie said yes! While their relationship has been full of adventures in every form, it is filled with copious amounts of laughter, love, and joy.
We are so excited to share our special day with all our friends and family. Thank you for being a part of our lives and we love you all so very much!
Love,
The Future Landrys
