It all began with a comment under Gabrielle’s Instagram post that started a year-long friendship. In January 2020, at a church youth camp in Lake Placid, FL, they finally met face to face despite being so nervous—all thanks to the friends who were there. They soon went on their first date in February 2020. Not too long afterward, which felt like forever to Gabrielle, in May 2020, Joshua asked Gabrielle to be his girlfriend. Even though Joshua and Gabrielle knew of each other because of the church since they were children, God led them to each other at the perfect moment.

On July 27, 2024, at the breathtaking Vizcaya Museum in Miami, Florida, our lives changed forever. As we were preparing to leave for our “date,” I could sense his nervous energy, so much so that when we were going to sit in the car, a funny mishap happened: his pants ripped! We started exploring the museum's beautiful grounds, but he kept hurrying me along, clearly eager for something special. Finally, we reached a green gazebo overlooking the water, a serene and perfect spot. It was there, that he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. It was a moment full of love, lots of laughter, and the perfect mix of sweet nerves and joy.
