Gabby and Mike met years ago at a little dive bar in Hamden called Side Street. They were just acquaintances then but always had our eye on each other. It wasn't until the summer of 2018 they really got to hang out and get to know each other. It all started with a prank phone call Michael's brother, Fred, had Gabby make to Michael. Without really knowing we were being set up by the group, especially by our closest friends Rebecca and Colin, we were off on our first date playing Mini Golf, and Bar Hopping and in that night we knew this was it.
After months of getting to know each other and falling in love, Mike waited for Gabby to be done with her semester until he made things "official" and from there their love began to grow. During this time before the engagement, Mike and Gabby had fun, they traveled, cooked all of the time together, bonded over the New York Yankees, growing into both of their careers supporting each other through every step of the way.
Life was easy but loving each other was easier. Then one summer day, on a mini family vacation to Cape Cod, Mike took Gabby down to the little dock that was on the lake of the house we were staying at. They sat and enjoyed their favorite drink, a nice Margarita, and just enjoyed the fresh air. During these moments, they saw a pair of swans floating on the lake, where Gabby had said to Mike "ya know swans mate for life", not knowing what was coming next. They got up to walk back to the house, that is when Mike got down on one knee, and proposed to the love of his life. Of course Gabby said yes instantly and the rest is history.
