Gabrielle & Jared

How did you meet?

J. We met the modern way on Facebook. After a few friendly nudges through messenger ( and some persistence), we finally met in person at a 4th of July party. I didn't work up the nerve to talk to Gabby until most of the crowd had cleared out, but once I did something clicked.

G. We had been Facebook friends for a while but never really talked. Jared's good friend Matt (one of the groomsmen) is with my close friend Chenice (one of the bridesmaids), so I had heard about him through her. Eventually, we started chatting on Facebook, and we officially met in person at a 4th of July party. It wasn’t until the end of the night when most people had left and we were among the last ones lingering that he finally came up and talked to me.

What was your first date like?

J. Our first date wasn't traditional. Gabby had lost her ID, so we stayed in. I made mojitos and fajitas from scratch, and it turned out to be the perfect start.

G. I was so nervous. It was perfect. We hung out at his house and ended up talking for hours.

When did you realize this was "your person"?

J. I knew Gabby was the one when I met her daughter, Celia. Seeing her as a mom made it clear that this was someone I wanted to build a life with.

G. I remember going to brunch with my friend Cassie (my maid of honor) the morning after our third date and telling her, “I’m going to marry him someday.” That feeling only grew stronger with time. When I saw the way he was with Celia, I knew he was the one. He’s the most incredible dad to our girls, and we’re so lucky to have him.

What do you love to do together?

J. We stay busy parenting! We still make time for each other and like going to concerts and games whenever we can.

G. We love spending time as a family with our girls! Jared has never stopped dating me. He’s always taking me out on date nights, and I really love that. We love traveling, live music, good food + drinks, and we never pass up a good game of Skee-Ball.

Tell me about the proposal?

J. In August 2024 during a family trip to Estes Park, I proposed by the Big Thompson River. It was a surprise, and a moment I'll never forget.

G.We were in Colorado for a family vacation. It was rainy and he stopped at this pretty pull off by the river. We love taking our girls to Colorado so its so special to be able to stop at the spot each time we visit.
